Are you on Windows 7?
User Account Control is on?
In many cases it prevents file writing actions in folders like Program files. Or whatever is not under your User Folder.

Edit:

Try to search for "screenshot-0000.png"

Searching for the screenshot-0000.png file worked wonders for me.
It showed me only one file and I could easyly open the Path to find the folder my screenshots get saved in.
Just search your entire system for this file. Dont restrict your search to a certain folder if you are unsure where it has exactly been saved.

cd ~
find . -name *screenshot-00*.png -print

Result:
./My Games/Path of Exile/Screenshots/screenshot-0002.png
./My Games/Path of Exile/Screenshots/screenshot-0000.png
./My Games/Path of Exile/Screenshots/screenshot-0001.png
./My Games/Path of Exile/Screenshots/screenshot-0004.png
./My Games/Path of Exile/Screenshots/screenshot-0003.png

kind regards

I'm not sure if you've found your screenshots, but I was able to find mine in \Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\Screenshots.
Same Deal . Except i dont even have a folder that says " Screen Shots" . Windows 10 pro .
In Win 10, the screenshots will be under "\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\Screenshots"
.

On windows 7 (64 bit) the location is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\Screenshots

Try to narrow your search a little.

Try searching for: "screenshot*" without the "

You're pressing 'F8' and not the 'Print Screen' button right?

I was pushing 'Print Screen'. 'F8' worked like a charm. Thanks guy from 6 1/2 years ago!
