Questions from someone who's looking to buy a PS4 solely for POE

i was disappointed in the play of poe on my ps4. I was hoping i could assign potion 1 to l1 potion 2 to l2 potion 3 to r1 and potion 4 to r2 however you have to use that stupid direction pad while you are trying to use the thumb sticks around. Also what blows is the fact you cant just equip an off handed wand if it has a gem socketed, you have to remove all socketed gems and than you get an option to equip in off hand.

Do yourself a favor, buy another laptop and avoid the headache. Also the real kicker is there is no $20 first blood start pack :(

karavouska talks about remapping his potions/ keys on his ps4 review
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKdqs2o4n1E its done in the system so it will remap for all your games but can be a good option.
looks like the ps4 community is going to be larger then the xbone version which is good.

You don't need to do that, you can pick it up like all the regular items with triangle, then you just place it into the slot. It's not ideal, but it's not too bad at all.

Edit: Also, I say go for it with either PS4. I'm playing on an original and it's been running great, only very occasional stutters in denser memories that don't affect gameplay at all, and I don't get any lag except for when I normally would on anything. (Lots of children watching videos here during the day.)

Edit again: Also this PS4 is almost 5 years old from when they first released, and it's slowed down a lot. I'm sure on a new PS4 of any kind it would run even greater.

As someone who got to level 90 in SSFHC playing on ps4 fat (first released). After 10 acts, it's nearly impossible to play in maps with shatter or explosion builds... So you should get the pro version. Btw you only got better loads with ssd, there's no performance benefits.

Big fps drops and stutter also happen with the Pro as well (even at 1080p) when the amount of particle effects is high.

I would advise you put the money into a cheaper desktop over PS4 if it is only for POE. On Xbox the state of the game hasn't really improved anywhere comparable to the PC version, and Sony is even harder to work with.

Most of what you said made sense, but these statements annoy me. You have never worked with Sony, or even spoken to someone who has. There's no reason at all to think that may be true. (besides click bait articles attacking one side of something to get the other sides supporters to view their ad ridden pages.)

Most of the people I've talked to said working with Sony was a positive experience, especially as a smaller dev studio or indie team because Sony assisted them quite a bit in getting their game on the platform etc.

To OP: my biggest concerns are the particular buttons being used to navigate the UI. It seems counterintuitive... but gameplay is pretty solid for the most part. Skills you would target seem to auto target though - so that will take some getting used to because that could be beneficial or harmful depending on the situation.

If you've got a 4k display, definitely go with the Pro model though. Even when I've picked up consoles for specific titles I eventually did pick up others here and there. If PoE or another title you've got an interest in hits 4k, you'll be glad you got the Pro.
don't recommend it. AH is a mess. chat is non-existent. LFG is not a thing here.

I 2nd this. I have a pro with an SSD and maps suck. There's no chat, unless you party. The controls are wonky. For the price of a pro with an SSD you can build a pc that will run the game way better. Look at the pro hardware bro. It's a decade old apu. The slim is sata 2 lmao. It is fun to play on my ps4 but just putting skill points into the tree is annoying af. If you aren't into end game then you won't have to worry about the death lag. Good luck!
Large mobs and oodles of spells makes for a ton of lag. Generally I need to back off so as to not lag-die. Using ps4 pro boost mode all that shit 4k tv. Ive just upgraded my internet speed to see if that helps.... 120 mbps to about 400. Havent had a chance to try it out yet. God damn love this game though. D2 vet.
