LA Rangers come in!

So now Duelist got their starting area reworked and i played around the passive tree and came out with this build:

Its our standard LA build but it seems to me that Duelist has a better starting area and not to mention they have 2 imo better major keystones at their starting area compared to ours:

Fury Bolts
Acceleration

Rangers will have Perfect Aim but 1 point wasted for Blood Magic users without a Lioneye Glare since we have to take the accuracy node and the other is Finesse which i feel is weaker than Acceleration not to mention we spent 4 points in evasion in order to get to Finesse

What say you guys? Duelist or Ranger now makes a better LA user?

EDIT: Ignore all the life nodes i didnt take. I'm just trying to compare the starting area and the route to Iron Reflexes

Was having the same thoughts about this.

A Ranger start is a more of a defensive start with the HP and Evasion nodes while a Duelist start is more of an offensive start with Acceleration and Fury Bolts. As for Iron Reflexes route, it's pretty much the same, a Ranger would need 16 points (spending points so that you can access Thick Skin) while a Duelist would need 17 points to get to it and spend more to get Thick Skin.

Though something to look at is that a Ranger can get Perfect Aim easily at later levels while still having Acceleration and Fury Bolts.

Duelist already were stronger LA user than ranger. With new buff it became even more stronger (I, particularly, got 25% more dps on LA without changing items)

Mind explaining about the 25% more DPS on LA without changing items?

My initial build was about skipping duelist area - attack speed -> dex->dex-> fury bolt and fork to elemental damage and Iron grip.
Now I have these nice buffed projectile damage and AS nodes, including Acceleration.

Also I removed inefficient branch( In templar area - elementalist->celestial walker) and picked Inner force.

after taking a look at the area for some time id say :

for casual players who will get tired of 1 char and leave it eventually at low lvls ( 80 or less ) its better to start as duelist.

for players who rly enjoy with 1 char type and will be his/ her main for a lot of time its way better to start as ranger.


if u wonder why , its simple : if u are ranger u can get to the duelist area just wasting 3 skill points in the process so u can actually have both starting areas .

as duelist u can also get both starting areas but the cost is higher , from the dex node next to the weapon elem dmg u would need 6 skill points just to reach the proj dmg node.

also as duelist u spend 1 more skill point in ur way to the x3 weap elem dmg.

so in total as duelist u are wasting 4 more skill points compared with ranger.

There is nothing interesting in ranger starting area for LA build:\
Evasion? Duelist have L&S (which is better with IR, can buff hybrid and pure armor items,+innate armor mastery).
2 health nodes for 8%? OP, yeah.
4% ias notable? duelist have 12%.

seems u are the typical guy who doesnt know an arrow is a projectile , discussion is over with me , u got way too low IQ to debate something , gl with ur cool build :)

So, you insist that picking 4 good nodes on the ranger's starting area, then 9 useless nodes is better than spending 13 nodes elsewhere? (If you pick resolute technique - accuracy useless)

Do you think Iron Grip is worth the points?

Why didn't you approach IG from the right/dex side instead, would've been one point less (ignoring the Savant node on left). Is it because you'd end up with too much dex and if you're taking IG you might as well take str?
