[3.9] Cospri's CoC Discharge Ascendant (RETIRED)

"
Even if awakened CoC can go past 7.5aps (10.10 aps with 52% cdr) the 165ms trigger in Cospri still exists, and the 15 aps thing is when you dual wield cospris, as you only hit with one of them each time so you have to double 7.5 to achieve maximum efficiency in triggers
and 15 aps with a single CoC is for double spells-double cospris, which you don't use so staying in 7.5 and maximizing your crit chance is the most viable option

I had read that post already, but I had a brain fart about the 15 aps thing I guess. You're right, 15 Aps doesn't help unless you want to max proc the same skills in a coc setup/if you're trying to get max proc rate when dual wielding malices for two different skills.

I did a lot of testing on shaper with a bit above 7.57 attack speed and as much crit I could get (bottled faith, inspiration charges, order flask), and my tooltip crit chance was between 65-85% all the time. I don't think bosses are chilled by the discharge (thereby not getting the crit bonus from cospri's) so I think the tooltip crit is pretty accurate. The biggest reason why crit is low, even with all that, is because power charges are not consistent in discharge builds. With around 1-3 charges at most (even with voll's protector), the damage is shit.

I also tested with 10.3 attack speed. The idea was, if I'm critting 75% of the time, then only 65% of my hits matter, meaning 7.57/0.7 = 10.09 (my ideal ats for max dmg). I know its not clean, cause if I crit 75 times in a row and miss 25 (which can happen), the the dps is awful. In the average case, with < 100% crit, > 7.57 ats will be ideal.

The dps was still awful.

I think you'd need 100% crit for actual dps against the current boss hp. Which I don't think is possible with discharge (even as assassin). Coc ice nova is a different story.

To conclude, I think I should definitely switch to assassin, and even then bosses will be difficult with this build. I'm probably going to retire this guide and switch to assassin on my character and if it feels good enough, I'll reinstate the guide. Thank you for your input, it made me do a lot of testing.

Not too far in, only did the first ascendancy, but how do you get to beserker as the final ascendancy points if you only get 8 points but it takes 6 to get to path of templar?

Path of templar takes 5 points.

Yep, new life on bosses killed the build
I got 90% crit chance without power charges, 99.8% with 6 PC and still take a while (1-2 min) against t16 bosses
fixed the APS at 7.52, great for clear but i wouldn't dare try Shaper with it

The problem is, you only have 90+ crit while flasks are up. You don't do enough dmg anymore while flasks are up, to phase bosses. Without flasks, the dps is awful.
