Summoner end game and Maps

Thank you sir. I totally appreciate your advice

Yes I actually rush on MI and will actually get rid of those left side passive. But I dont wanna use EB cus I wand to use midnight bargain on end game. I already got my Bone Ullr boots just now for 2chaos and 1alc. But its only 3s3l. I want it to be 4s4l so i could put skelies on a totem there.

I dont know where should I put my thread for questions about summoner witch so I post it here cus I got interested on the subj.

Just so you konw act 3 is lvl 61 to 63 for the ENTIRE THING. I would stop farming act 1 and get to act 3 and start making a map database.

I made it to act 3 and am now level 67.5 - I got my first map a level 66 dune map that I just banked for now.

These just dropped for me 15 minutes ago:

Congrats on the boots, perfect 15's are definetly nice. If i was you, and had the back up plan of a couple of alchs to trade for lvl 66 maps, i would just start running them. It's hard enough for me at lvl 80 to stay full of maps of anything over 68. Granted my iiq is shit but you will constantly find yourself outleveling the map your in. MIght as well run it close to your level if you can. If your worried about lost xp, just lvl up then try it so you have nothing but the map to lose.

Forgot to mention, prepare to make every single map you get at least magical. If i have the currency i will make every high lvl(70+ for me) map I get rare. It could have been just bad luck, but when i went through a stretch of just running them normally I completely ran out. Had to trade a bunch of currency to get back on track.

Depending on how you built your toon and your gear will determine what you can run. Summoners get alot of leeway. There really isn't anything I can't run without too much hassle. Temporal chains sucks, but is doable. If you have enough health and are careful you can do chaos damage ones, but prepare for having no energy shield and i would recommend running vitality. Burning ground you have to be careful with but vitality helps a bunch thier as well.

I would look for high quantity or a map that is a maze/larger with plus to pack size. The latter has worked out better for me, some of these dungeons seem half empty. More monsters is more xp and more chances for map drops. Prepare for the maps to be small and for RNG to suck, but this should keep you with at least something to do at all times.

I finished Merciless and am now 70. I have five level 66 maps and one level 67 map. I did one level 66 map and breezed through it, with no upgrades to the map just normal difficulty.

I had one map drop in the map instance. Took me about 15 minutes to do the whole thing (dunes).

I enjoyed it throughly.

Thanks for the advice.

IIQ Apparently has no effect on map drops anyway (but the affix/chisel bonus does)

Maps are pretty frustrating/boring, I'm 82 and I rarely work myself upto 70+s, ive got 66's and 67's coming out the wazoo and have probably sold 60-70, but done maybe 10 70+ maps at most, and nothing above 73.

Anything below 69 is pretty much a cakewalk (with some particularly bad affix combos though). Piety is the only boss that has really given me any trouble so far, and that thicket one earlier on, but once you figure how his arrows work hes easy.

(I run all maps as rare btw)

Maybe it will help. I play now summoner witch build to play in tandem with my colleague who plays CI/dual curse/arc/spark witch.

My current build:

And the end goal will be probably like this:

As you see I still haven't got all minions passives, survivability first :) rest of minions passives is goal for next 6 levels.

My current gear (everything except Bones and Globe is team-drop):
Spoiler

When I play in tandem, I don't use curse, I "wear" Molten Shell all the time. I use only Clarity and Discipline, there is no point in Purity if I capped all resistances (for chaos, I have ~-8%). At the moment, I have 1920 HP (after MB reservation) and 2221 ES (with Discipline).

Usually, the only problem is of course chaos (I have to keep at bay) and projectiles (so I started to use granite flask recently). But leveling is quite smooth, I have total of ~25 deaths so far (and it's SC so the only reason was taking too much risk, I think this build would be viable also on HC).

Regarding play style, I usually use what is available, of course minions dies, but I tend rather to take ranged spectres and keep them alive using skeletons and zombies as tanks. I use Arc as support and safe-measure.

Anticipation slowly dissipates...

Holy shit, RNG is finally being kind to me and I have a healthy pool of 70+ maps. So far its not that bad, you have to resummon your army more frequently because the monsters do way more damage. Still gotta watch out for the same old Cinder elementals, incinerators, alchemist b/c they rape your army fast.

At least high level map spectres are op.

Summoners are very viable for alch'ed 70+ maps. They are sort of like the turtle(slow and steady) but eventually you'll finish the entire map without much complications. A high level spectre will pretty much wipe the floor with any map thou.

LOL. I know very well what I am talking about.

Pro's and Cons:

Summoner PRO: You have meatshields....

Summoner CON: You always have to worry about spectres, you can't see anything that is going on, and the FPS drops are ridiculous.

MY Build PRO: I have 2-3x summoner dps, I have spectres on command ( totems ), I never die because everything is permafroze / knocked back, I run 6 auras.

MY Build CON: I don't have nor need meatshields.

My build is far more viable than any summoner build for maps, and I took the idea from Zefer's build, credited him, and changed about 30 passive points away from what his passive tree suggested. I also use different supports for my EK, different aura's, and different gear and playstyle. But thanks jackass, for making the connection to Zefer. I should probably make the connection that your "ingenuity" for your summoner build derived from Diablo 2 Necromancer's.

Bottom line, I had a terrible time with summoner because I got sick and tired of babysitting spectres, not being able to see my screen, and watching a slideshow ( on a good comptuer I should add ).

If you like that sorta thing, stick with summoner. If not, gtfo of there as fast as you can.

Yeah, taking a shit at summoner builds, because you couldnt even play it, doing dual totem build(wow original), naming it GOD build, doing a build guide will really help you get more subscribers on your channell. Go stream or something... i mean bump your topic :> GOD build... dear god.
