Map drops are horrible this league
In Incursion i was always aiming to get Map rooms everytime at tier 2+, so i didn't felts running out of mapd, i had all unlocked up to level 8-9 maps in 2weeks maybe.
But here since i'm barely at Delve 110 while on map lv6, i got zero maps from Delve (i mean 2 a day maybe ?) a barely 1map every 2Maps run, and usually a lower tier, i had to buy all Zana maps + got some extra from a lot of Zana mission popping, but now i'm back at map level 3-4... Feel like Delve mobs are lower for xp and way harder to kill with all those EMP super mobs and Azurite spikes in the azz popping everytime. Incursion was really good to drop more maps indeed. Maybe i'm too casual but i can't play more than 20-25h a week when i play poe^^'. Last edited by Bakudan#2344 on Sep 9, 2018, 7:33:22 PM

Maps may be crap... But on the flip side...
Currency flow is good. Zana changes great. Map improvements good. Item flow is good. Delve fixes are making things better... NS |

If someone complains about map drops without expressing his atlas completion, DO NOT believe it.
He is probably a Blizzard cry baby. Tolerate him until the Blizzcon at November. They'll all be gone. They probably have 45/158 on Atlas. Selling their chisels, vaals, sextants for chaos instead of applying t7+ maps. Vaal is incredibly cheap in this league. 10 days past since start and still cheaper than chaos. Use it on t7+ Chisels are the cheapest ever. 0.3 chaos is wtf. When I complete 100+ iiq t11 map averagely I dropped 2 T10s and 2 t11s. By the way, if you dont complete t16 Guardian maps, 6c Zana mod for +5 tier is a noob trap. Dont use it unless you want exp deadly. Last edited by pphnx#3691 on Sep 10, 2018, 4:59:34 AM

" And here we are again. We don't want to trade to do maps, period. We don't want to buy maps, chisels, vaals, we don't want to sell stuff to get chaos to buy all that crap. We hate trade. We want to play Path of Exile, not Path of Huckster. Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit. Shirely you guys jest...
Map drops have been the same for years now. To reach red maps I do exactly the same thing every league in SSF: alc & go. Nothing else. Never waste a chisel or Zana mods on anything but red maps. Start Alcing T5. The new Zana changes are fantastic* and help progression a lot. (86% completion without trying very hard - most of my playtime is gathering stupid sulphite and delving). The "roll same tier map" mod is awesome for SSF. I used it even on white maps. * one small possible problem with new changes that I ran into, is the Shaper storyline being stuck on some map that won't drop or can't be tiered up. If this happens early on (in white maps, with a low lvl zana) it can be a nuisance. --- Of course the Atlas still requires the main ingredient: a lot of grind. If you expect to run each map only once and get to red ones, you are expecting the wrong thing. When night falls

" Then you have to grind. Run 200 white maps before jumping the yellow. 400 yellow maps before red. If you dont want to trade grind 3x. |

The new "random map from same tier" - Zana mod makes Atlas completion super easy. By the first day of mapping I had my feet into red maps, by the third day I had Atlas cleared from tiers 1-10 apart from a few unlucky oddities.

yes I noted that at least early on in mapping the drops have been nerfed extremely since I last played. I can barely sustain tier 1-3 maps!
since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good

I am at 120/159 atlas. every map i play as an average of 100-105 quantity and i am not losing maps but the tier is going down persistantly.

To me the map drop rate mostly feels like this:
1. League/Expansion XYZ adds map-related mechanic (e.g. Atlas bonus / Sextants). 2. Map drops are balanced towards utilizing the new mechanic. 3. Whoever doesn't utilize the mechanic suffers from lower drop rates. E.g. I never use sextants and I suffer for it. To sustain alched tier 10, you need nearly full atlas completion, so the start is slow. And so on. It feels cheap to add some sort of bonus but to adjust the drop rates so that the bonus is really not a bonus, but something mandatory if you want to be were you were before the bonus was added. “We are the race of flesh, We are the race of lovers.” Last edited by Frostride#6705 on Sep 11, 2018, 8:20:15 AM
