Unplayable Lag (High FPS, Low Ping)

Hi,

so I have just picked up the game and I've had the most infuriating experience, while I didn't even kill 20 monsters.

I have constant high fps and really low ping, yet I'm lagging incredibly. I've had better experiences playing cross Atlantic on a Pentium 100 with 56k modem.

I have a rock solid 500/100 mbps connection and 4770k/GTX780 computer.

Switching to Predictive in Netconfig does mask the problem, but that just doesn't help me.

The funny thing is: I figure it's an ISP/Routing issue which are super rare, but usually can just be circumvented by using a VPN (I'm paying for Nordvpn anyway so this wouldn't even be a problem).

Yet it didn't help either (See WinMTRs).

I'm at a real loss as to what's going on here. Please help.

(Oh and I also tried, several gateways)
(Oh and I did stupid things, such as disabling vsync, but people in game insisted)
(I also reset the maps, but that didn't help either)

Yeah nah, this is has nothing to do with load.

I installed the game at 2:00AM and tried until 3:00AM. Also it was actually unplayable. Not like "haha it annoys me a lot unplayable", but like "I can't believe how anyone would enjoy such a piece of $h!7, I need to Spam heal potion not to get eaten by the first zombie on the beach".

And popularity can't be the issue when my buddies are playing the exact same game, 50km from here without any problems.

I really really raged yesterday, because I didn't even really want to play the game, I just wanted to give it a go. But now it has become this mystery for me how my experience can be this bad in 2018.

Also I really don't get it as someone with some knowledge of networking. The problem just has to be on their end. But why am I the only one having these problems then?
Today it's working butter smooth.

Why? What was happening, I still like an explanation.
Don't bother, GGG's servers are garbage, and their technical support comes down to a single thing "It's your ISP".

I have NEVER, EVER gotten disconnected from a single game ever, never had any lag or anything. I'm losing packets on a GGG's networklayer, and they will never fix it, since they don't care about the 5% of people that have the problems enough, since the 95% are satisfied, that's why they are a garbage company.

I would never spend a $ on this game because of that, and it's a shame because it's one of the best games available today.

That's sad.

I agree though, I will not pay anything either as long as I get issues like this again. (And I've probably spent 300€ on Rocket League :D)

Games that work properly deserve to get our money, Path of exile does not, at the moment.
Today I'm having turbo lags again.

Just unplayable :(
same shate here. I'm based in Scotland, and never had issues with London server until the recent patch (3.4.1).

I cleaned my PC both software and hardware, overclocked GPU and it didn't help with lag spikes

I got increased ping from 32-50ms to approx 600ms every 20-25 sec

do you mean it spikes to 600ms?

With me its packet loss. I have constant max 28ms and then all of the sudden a 1600 or 700 spike.

In fact it is that I have every second spikes like this, it's just not shown in the graph "F1" since the polling interval isn't fast enough.

If you just have a constant high ping, a VPN might solve your problem. Since if it's just a constant high ping, there might be a problem in the route between you/your ISP and the Game.

It's worth a try anyway.
