You also need to get Zana in your hideout and do her missions.
You can buy your way up to t7-8 relatively cheaply. Filling in your atlas as much as you can is also important. Really you should not fall below t-5-6 if you do like the others posted and have Zana. You can also get maps from her missions. You can also trade up 3 of the same tier for one of next tier which can help.

For kicks and giggles I did a ten map run carefully separating out the proceeds.

Got 9 maps, if you convert all the currency it comes out to approx. 15 Chaos. That includes assuming I actually sell the three uniques I found for the Alchemy a piece they are worth.

I had forgotten about the vendor rare chaos recipe. A bit annoying, but somewhat effect over the long run. In the ten runs I didn't complete a set, no rings. But saved 20 pieces towards future turn-ins. Technically another 4 Chaos, but that assumes all the pieces are found in equal amounts, which obviously isn't the case -- you always are short on rings and amulets compared to all the other pieces.

Anyway, the currency was less the issue than the maps. It still feels like I'm finding less than I did in previous leagues. But I'm willing to admit that could partly be bad memory on my part...

I noticed the same thing, it was hard before getting a variety of map drops but now it seems worse. I was hoping they would improve it but it looks like they did the opposite and made it harder for us. I have enough patience to buy some of the maps I am not getting but I don't care enough to check off every map. So my Atlas looks really chopped up right now.
