Getting Wrecked, about to Rage Quit
" You can actually play all 10 acts in one go if u know what ure doing and if u're paying attention to be up to date with ur gear, gems, sockets spells etc. I never farm anything but maps ^^ I know all player come and say : "ahahah nice, u have try a bot u get ban, sooo nice" but i tell u its just for try, for see and for know. I have use this 10 minutes maximum and i have insta uninstall." - some not-too-bright dude, 2013; Joined 2012, † 2013.

" Im very happy for you but have you got anything helpful to aid me on my way? |

my league character is level 57 at the moment, so I think we can compare the gameplay at your and my level and how it fells about killspeed.
I tried to follow a build called noodle arc trapper, but have not so many skill points at the passive tree, like I would like to have it same way. Time will come. At the beginning I focused at the nodes that make my build idea so I used the search function when I did passive nodes and looked for trap. This gave me a first way, what to use and where to go. Because at the start everything is easier, I took almost all dmg nodes first and will now start to go for life nodes while completing the tree. At the start it was hard because even with good dmg, when you are dead, you make no damage, so the first temples were without words to tell about. But with more time and levels the combinations of the skill gem start to make the damage I hoped for. So instead of getting hard times more and more, I began to get feeling easier to kill them all. I always try to have no need for trade and make it with the items that will drop, maybe later, I will go for some special items at trade. It feels stronger to do it kind of selffound. I took a look at your tree and I would say, I would not have it done that way. Like the starting nodes, when you took both sides, I would only had used spell dmg side, because you will go for Life and the mana reg and energy shield are 5 nodes that could have better used for life nodes. Have a look to find a wand with +1 to lightning gems, that is good boost. Will you go for a minion build or for arc build? If you go for lightning dmg you should have some curse like conductivity or A-mark? What will be your boss killer skill and what will you use for area damage against trash? Imortant thing at last, with your level you need to go for more links, you can buy 4l from NPC vendors in town. With a skill and 3 support gems it will start to make damage. |

you need to get a 4l at this stage you can even be 5l.
There are 1c armours like that for sale. Even as ssf you should be able to get a unique with added gem link or farm it manually. the rest of the gear is as most have said pretty shit. |

" Your passive tree seems ok'ish for the first timer:) Well you should make some improvement here or there but nothing unchangeable. If you are going to stick with lightning damage you can remove f.e. "Fire Walker" passive but I guess you took it bcos of fire resistance. Some small nodes such as 8% elemental damage are usully skipped but nothing wrong at all. You could play through all 10 acts in one go but it requires some knowledge, lucky drops or a bit of trade. There´s nothing wrong with a bit of farming before reaching endgame (especially in SSF mode). You would struggle sooner or later anyway. As I have said before try to get either +1 skill 3 link wand/scepter or 4 link. You can use pretty basic crafting recipe for +1 skill weapon 1* 3-linked Magic Sceptre or Wand + Topaz Ring + 1* Orb of Alteration. Last edited by Rakiii#5559 on Jun 6, 2018, 6:49:32 AM

" Sure thing man. Your best bet to get thru as stresless as possible is to just keep tabs on a few major things. The rest will kinda sort out itself along the way. The few major things are: - Up to date spells with supprts. Its very easy to get 4 link stuff. Its quite easy to even craft needed items. Lets start with this example: Get urself chest armour of the base u need (str, int, dex) and highest available item level it could be any rarity with any stats, best is raw white coz we are starting from zero with this example. Make it blue with transmut, aguments and so on until u get desired stats like + max life and any ele rez for isntance. Then you can yolo regal it to see what happen, amybe ull get more good afixes, maybe not - this is not the cheapest way! SO lets stick to the basics. Before u do anything to it, go full on quality up to 20%, ull be needing only 4 curryency for this so its ok. Then make it blue with life and anything useful, reroll it until u get thigs u need. then jeweller's orb it to the oblivion until 4 sockets, then hope to get lucky with links, link 4 sockets. It's not that expensive in the long run when u get the grasp of it. You can do the same with boots, helmet, gloves. Believe me at 30-40 or even 50 lvl u can faceroll stuff in correctly rolled blues capping all ele rez and getting respectable life amout assumiong u didnt suicide at ur passive tree that is. ;p Help urself further with correctly chosen supportive spells like immortal call linked with CWDT and inc duration. Get any mobility skill with inc cast/attack speed. Use defensive golem like chaos one if u need more protection, dont be shy with getting userlf some charges! If ure marauder or in some cases duelist, find urself a reliable way of getting endurance charges and get some more on the tree, even temporarly - having 20%+ phys reduction on top of the regular armour makes stuff easy peasy. If ur goal is to go with Energy Shield build or even CI dont be that guy who goes full ES early leveling - it will kill ur will and spirit trust me. You will spend more time lying dead on the ground than that rotting corspe from the a1 strand. In this case go life/es until late game. Well this is getting long enough. You will get the hang of it in no time, just trust ur common sense and pick up a few things on the forums. And try, experiment and dont be afraid. We all failed more builds than we can count - its kinda natural process of evolving in PoE. You'll be golden, im not worried! Cheers! I know all player come and say : "ahahah nice, u have try a bot u get ban, sooo nice" but i tell u its just for try, for see and for know. I have use this 10 minutes maximum and i have insta uninstall." - some not-too-bright dude, 2013; Joined 2012, † 2013.

If you are going to play SSF, you really need to know how to self sustain your own gear.
Incursion is actually in a really good spot for SSF as it does let you farm stuff a lot earlier. But apart from that, knowing the vendor recipes will really help. You can sell a blue weapon, with a topaz ring and an alt orb for a +1 to lighting weapon. Just wait until you have a 3 linked blue then do it. As it happens the flat lightning on your wand is probably fairly close, but you could have had the +1 from level 5/6. Running incursions once you have a +1 wand/sceptre would be a good idea as you can get insanely good levelling weapons, armour and belts (100+ life and 10% life chests, 48% all res belt, might get lucky and get a sacrificial heart amulet which will double your damage ) Then start keeping any good base 4 links (or 5 if lucky) and use you essences, alchemy, even chance orbs on them. Temple can give orbs of binding, they give you a rare 4l when you use them. Basically, you can't expect just to find stuff in SSF, you need to work a bit for it. Your tree is also a bit dodgy. Don't just grab every node in sight. You need to spread out the the areas that most benefit your build. |

Every time i start an Incursion, i hear her say "Get Wrekt" right before i jump in the portal.....

@pawzaw88 thankyou for your advice, im going to try and absorb it as best as I can
@Carlovski vendor recipe very helpful ty " OK So I have a wand with the above The wand has Spark, added lightning, and Elemental proliferation in the sockets, both have 3 blue sockets My arc is loaded into a 4-link body armour When I swap over to the +1 wand I gain 300dps for spark, but lose 200dps for Arc (which is my main skill/spell but If I use an Orb of Alteration on the +1 wand to try and get added lightning, then I will lose the +1 so I uhm.....er.... balls to it, im going for a cookie. |

While this is completely up to you, I would highly advise AGAINST playing SSF. Trading is a big part progressing in this game, especially as you get into upper maps and end-game bosses. You're clearly not knowledgeable enough for those kinds of challenges (no offense), and you'll find it very frustrating even much earlier than that without the ability to trade some of your currency for an upgrade here and there. The game has a learning curve to it, and being able to trade for upgrades will make your life considerably easier to that end. SSF is mostly for people who want to grind endlessly for incremental upgrades as they progress toward those challenges, but most of them won't run into trouble until high maps to begin with. You're already having issues half way through campaign (which is the "gimme" mode of the game). This isn't to put you down or discourage you, but just to paint the reality of the situation you're in.
- I would swap the Ele Prolif from Sparc and Vaal Arc, and take the Echo in its place. By itself, you should see a huge dps increase just from that. - Additionally, I'd replace the Granite Flask with a Basalt, and try to craft some extra duration, reduced charges used, extra charges available, etc as well as some form of status removal (Shock, Frozen, Bleed, etc). - While it's acceptable for leveling (kind of), any time you see a Bismuth flask on your belt should be a sign that your gear is under par; ideally, you should never have to equip one of these. - As others have stated, your build isn't geared enough to support Mind over Matter yet, so you should probably respec out of that for the time being. - You may want to consider pathing down the tree to the life wheel southwest of Scion's starting location. That's a huge bundle of efficient nodes, and even though it would take some points to get there, you'd be close to a few other nodes along the way: two jewel sockets, Dynaamo, the ES wheel north of Scion... and these would put you near Sentinal and 3 more resist nods as well as another jewel slot. - On the topic of jewel slots, it's cool to use unique jewels that change the behavior of a spell or effect, but for stats alone you generally won't want just more damage (especially the "increase X damage by Y%" line of mods) unless your defenses are adequate. Usually it's better to take stats that are hard to get in your area of the tree or more defenses. For example, all resist and life is a rare combo to roll, but it does happen and would be a huge benefit. Getting extra Dex might help too, since you're getting so little from your tree as it is. Crit is often sought after as well because it can be a great way to scale your damage as well as increase how often you proc statuses on enemies. - You should consider rerolling your Quicksilver to have more movement, charges, duration, etc to get the most out of it. This is usually one of the best value crafts you can do early on because it will take a long time to find a replacement. - You should chrome your gloves to have more linked blue slots so you can do Lightning Warp + Faster Casting + Reduced Duration (this last one being more optional for now). - Try to avoid putting support gems on your auras if you can, because it will multiply the mana reservation cost, and you definitely don't want that right now. That all said, I want to point you to some useful resources. - Lots of useful info. Use the dropdown tab in the upper left of the home page. http://poewizard.com/index.php - Learn what to sell to the vendor, how to "craft" leveling items, and cheap/easy ways to get currency. https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Vendor_recipe_system - Plan your characters and preview various build paths. https://poeplanner.com - How to layer your defenses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhAompSttsU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9VTa73wmIw - How to scale your damage and how it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IeE4mQgqN8 - Assuming you decide to play with the rest of civilization, some methods for making currency https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0cIN9l0lRA *Also worthwhile to invest in some premium tabs if you choose to do this, but there are free methods available too: Acquisition and Procurement being the primary ones people tend to use. Also familiarize yourself with poe.trade and https://poe.ninja/challenge/currency so you can easily buy items from other players. - If you haven't yet, consider using a loot filter https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1259059 A big part of the learning curve in this game is simply how much there is to know, so I strongly encourage you to explore these resources and develop some of that knowledge. Many of the videos are good because you can watch/listen to them on a second screen or in the background while you play, though I don't recommend this for the damage and defenses videos--you should legit watch those more attentively. Tired of trolls? Ignore them.
