Reddit doesn't understand how bad the Dyadus nerf is

It used to be! Before 3.2 it wasn't easy to chill bosses so it wasn't worth a slot even when ignite was a double-dipping monstrosity before 3.0.

It's been super easy to chill bosses for ages. Just not with your hits.

Ground Effects don't count for Dyadus and never have (they might actually start counting *now*, since it switched from "chilled by you" to "chilled"?). What other method has their been? Serious question.

I'll admit, I'm gonna miss the easy 1mil+ shaper SR dps while using just 2x dyadus and a tabula as elementalist.

It does get a bit annoying when the ninja-nerfs are never mentioned until the patch notes hit though. Dyadus was easy to see coming, but trap support losing all of its damage multipier, while mines keep their 49% more damage multiplier, is rather annoying.

I mean, I knew all along that it was a possibility (it's why the first thing I did with the patch notes was ctrl+f for Dyadus), but I was sincerely hoping that they were being genuine when they said ignite was going to be viable again. Turns out they were lying through their teeth. I only hope ZiggyD didn't even know about the nerf, since he could've told us about it weeks ago while he was helping them hype up ignite and I wouldn't have wasted all that time optimizing an actual ignite build.

But that's a good point about traps/mines. Clearly they don't care about changing the meta, so maybe I should just run a GC Miner.
Lol, these dual-wield Dyadis AGs will go full swag mode. Whoever would want to lose one.
I'll probably try out all the new trap gems in 3.3 while leveling, even though it's gonna be hard to find sockets to fit them in, but I'll probably just end up settling on Arc miner + Lightning Spire trap for endgame anyway.

The trap-side nodes of Saboteur are a bit too weak now as well, although some of the general tree pathing changes are nice.

Arc mines = 49% more damage
Arc traps = 0% more damage

Balanced.
Copied from 3.3. Patch notes:
___
Dyadus: No longer has the mod "Enemies chilled by you take 100% increased burning damage".
Dyadus now has "100% increased Damage with Ignites inflicted on Chilled Enemies".
___

The madness is getting stronger the more I read this. Now we have to inflict any chill and then an ignite. Pretty much impossible with RF-builds now, because neither Righteous Fire nor Scorching Ray or Searing Bond actually ignite.

The only item Dyadus as a weapon might work is in combination with Hrimburn. But who the hell plays melee ice/cold skills with ignite after 3.0 nuclear nerfs?

What? You seem to be under the impression that Dyadus is still *way* better than it is. It wasn't just nerfed for non-ignite burn, it was also nerfed to complete shit for actual ignite. Even with a hrimburn Attack Build, you can pull out a better build with just using Doryani's Catalyst and stacking flat damage.

"Enemies take increased damage" and "[you deal] 100% increased damage" are completely different mods. The new mod is just trash all the time. If the wording was changed to "Chilled enemies take 100% increased damage with your Ignites" then at least the selfcast ignite build would fucking work (but elementalist RF dyadus would be nerfed, which many feel is justified). Even if Dyadus was changed to the wording you seem to want, "100% increased burning damage inflicted on chilled enemies", it would still be trash for RF because there are just so many way better items. You know, like Doryani's Catalyst. Like I said.

As it is, Dyadus isn't useful for *literally anything* in 3.3.

Again, I don't disagree with what you're saying, but when they spent literally the last month getting many of us super-hyped for finally being able to play a selfcast ignite build again and now they're taking it away from us before we even try it out, it feels like shit.

Feeling like shit now is better than locking all ignite into a very prescriptive build.

Damn, now that you mention it. One is a more multiplier while the new one is just "increased" with even worse conditions.

I now see it. Thx for mentioning it! Another example of how to delete an unique item by GGG 100h-hour balance team!

But instead they locked all ignite into no build at all??? Why on earth do you think 0 functional builds are better than 1 functional build?
