[3.5] The Blinding Blizzard - Whispering Ice CI Elequisitor - Viable For Everything

I think I'll play this build again during Delve. I tried it for the first time during this flashback league but I can't play anymore until the end of the month so it was too short. Incursions can be tough to manage in solo with this build if we want to kill an architect AND open doors, but Delve should be just fine.

Maybe I missed it in the 100s of pages, but as going into delve, what's the pros and cons of ascendant vs witch elementalist?

Hello,

Thanks for the build! I'am having a ton of fun!

One question, I'am seeing your Staff isn't corrupted in the guide, and now even looking at other peoples builds in this thread, their Staff isn't either. So its just better to leave 18% block chance on it? Does it help? I just got 14% increased cast speed on mine, so I'am thinking should I just switch to the regular one? Thanks.

Covered in Gear - Corruption.

Ascendant gets 60 extra BASE Int (that's before it's increased by all the mods), an option to use Pure Talent, 5 extra skill points, and immunity to elemental ailments on sanctified ground which it constantly creates. It's also notably easier to max resists with the Scion (i.e. easier to drop Nullification and get something else). There is no downside to using this class at all.

Elementalist gets 0.5% leech and a little extra defense from elemental hits. But the downsides are significant: no Pure Talent, no extra Int or skill points, longer tree pathing. Elementalist has 2 less jewel sockets and ends up something like 200 INT lower than the Ascendant with the same gear.

When I was considering these classes back in 3.1, they would have very similar damage output from the same gear. But that was before we got new %Increased INT corruptions, and I didn't use Pure Talent then either, and didn't account for longer pathing. The gap in Int is too large now, Ascendant is way ahead.

The 0.5% leech is the only possible reason to choose Elementalist. But it's not enough to drop Life Leech against the bosses that move a lot (most notably Uber Elder). And for Delve the same can be achieved with lab enchanted boots, since you will be constantly killing.

Ascendant is definitely the way to go for Delve.

What is the maximum speed of the Crawler?
The base speed is proportional to your run speed. For example. if you use a Quicksilver Flask, that speed increases. The Crawler can also move faster than your run speed if you get in front of it via movement skills. All of this is really not important because the monsters are hard enough that the challenge is not being left behind. You're not escorting the Crawler, it's escorting you.

Seems like taking 0% movespeed boots for Delves will be a good idea.

Maybe when you get so deep that it takes time killing even trash. But it will be painful everywhere else. And even in Delve it's probably not going to be an issue since the crawler slows down when you are behind it. Something to check, I guess.

It also seems likely the new crafting system will make it easier to craft better gear than I did in incursion, and that was already enough to get to 11k ES.

I'm looking forward to getting the complete list in order to figure out what the most efficient methods are. Depending on price of course.
