Skills that don't need any damage nodes?
Are there any skills that use a few or no skill nodes on the skill tree?

The closest you might get to a build with few damage nodes would be RF, since it directly converts life into damage. But that's about it as far as I know.

The closer you get to immortality, the fewer Damage nodes you need.

" No. By design, the passive tree is used to improve damage output, as others have said. I'm interested more, though, in why you are asking this. I feel like you have identified some sort of problem you are having, and are thinking that spending few or no passive tree points on damage will help solve it. So, what is it that led you to asking about that specific thing? |

Depends. My recent build has only two points in damage passives, and its because I wanted the other mods on them. The rest of my damage increase comes from Strength. In this case, Skill is not that relevant

" What? Facebreakers only get flat and More Damage otherwise - going 0% from Passives is shooting yourself in the foot. With a fist, I guess. But it wouldn't hurt so much? Missing a lot of scaling after all. |

Short answer: no skill likes having absolutely no scaling on the tree. Some skills can get away with it, but they will still be very slow since scaling damage with no passive investment is very difficult.
Why do you want to build this way? As Slippy asked - why is this a thing you're trying to do? What problem are you hoping to solve, where are you planning on spending your points if not on damage? She/Her

No, even for pillar of the caged god or facebreaker they scale damage mainly by having flat phys and attributes, still damage nodes do a lot, especially attack speed, if you want to have a build invest very few points in damage nodes, you need a GG weapon that's all, back in the day before lab was introduced,low life spectral throw builds melt everything with only two dagger crit cluster as damage nodes (dagger nodes were way too good at the time), everything else is either aura, energy shield or pathing points.

Minions (Specters) use very few, because there are very few. They use curses, aureas, and many unique items with low defenses instead to boost damage.
