Nowadays it's a whole new ball game with serious well rounded female fighters and she can't hang with even top 5 with her limited skill set. " yea, it's a real shame. having already competed at an olympic level in judo, she's definitely got the foundation of athleticism there. if only she had like half the striking skills as her judo, she'd be a beast, i bet. im still dumbfounded why her coaches seemed not to have taught her better striking....even after her loss to holm....

yep....heard she was real messed up from that one. smth like a lot of her teeth were knocked loose and her jaw was broken, too...i can totally understand the depression she had after taking a hit that messed her up that much.

to be fair, the big problem with ROnda is her coach.
The guy is a crook, a shit boxer , a charlatan. He successfully made her believe he is good and know shit about training but in fact he is just a good motivator. He made her think she can box and could beat pro male boxers lol. Ronda's coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, is atrociously bad. He's basically a con artist. Of course, it's Ronda's fault for getting herself involved with him.
Ronda could have progressed and stayed competitive with a real coach. With Tarverdyan, though... (shakes head) Her stance and striking movements before the Holmes match looked worse than someone after one month of boxing practice. And that guy keeps telling her she has elite striking. I guess he's at least good at conning gullible people... You have to be realistic about these things.

It's any coach or trainer's responsibility to tell someone they're shit when they're actually shit. Being told you're not shit has to be earned. But she isn't completely useless, and could be 'stay at home mom' material.

Basically? No he's a real con artist. Been indicted for identity theft credit card fraud and what not. Somehow he latched onto Ronda and hit big time. Sucked Travis in to and lost every fight since. lol

" Pretty much, she was in over her head. She has a good armbar and that's pretty much it. Her striking skills are pretty lackluster when compared to others in the women's divisions also. The women's divisions are looking pretty good now though. It just took a while for real talents to show up. yea, honestly, i just don't understand how she got sucked into his gym or why she chose to stick with him...
even shayna baszler. i was sort of a fan of hers since i heard she was being coached by josh barnett (im a barnett fanboy lol), but then i heard edmond ruined her career, too--smh. ppl saying she been 0-3 since moving to edmond's gym....so sad, man....
