POE needs a status icon overhaul

I'm currently playing a Low Life build (without Shav's Wraps!) and only ~400 HP unreserved life.

I'm enjoying this build a lot but every now and then I really get SO mad when I suddenly die to poison without any sign of warning!
It is SO stupid to have to be watching that tiny red blob in the bottom left corner of my screen all the time just to avoid dying to a ssss (stupid single spider spit)!

Why can't there just be a flashing green drop/syringe flashing in the middle of the screen when you're poisoned just as it is perfectly well done for being taunted?

Same goes for bleed or any other DoT, that kind of damage is sometimes just so hard to detect; but I really don't think this should be an aspect of skillful playing just being able to recognize on time that you're poisoned or bleeding.

And concerning other buffs/debuffs: I think there really needs to be a clear distinction of permanent and temporary effects:

- Auras and the likes could go in a corner of the screen, onslaught etc in the other.

- Elemental status icons should have their place near the life globe: why not make a burning life globe when you're ignited? Why not a "snowflake" around the globe when you're chilled? Why not a circled lightning bolt around the globe when you're shocked?

This could all be easily made optional for anyone not wanting/needing this kind of information.

The most important thing IMHO would be to make a FIXED place for the status icons so you get used to their position no matter which character you're playing.

... and in further notice:

It's just ridiculous that there is no way to change my main hand weapon but keep my off hand shield/weapon. Just imagine someone walking around and deciding he wants to grab his dagger instead of his sword and suddenly his shield disappears!

It would be SO EASY to seperate weapon swap main hand/off hand with two separate buttons - and a third one for simultaneous change of main and off hand.

Some things I just don't understand.

Nevertheless, not that I'm mistaken: I love PoE - but I could love it a lot more! :-)
