Blizzard probably mailed out quite a few keys to people with abandoned bnet accounts, forgotten email addresses, etc. The only difference is, blizz doesnt tell you when they are giving out keys, or who got them. either way, you get whiners.

This is a very fluctuating beta in terms of balance and available content. They aren't merely balancing numbers here, or stress testing. There is still a lot of content slated for the game that is not implemented, more keystones, abilities, supports, an entire class, an entire act, etc.

This is basically GGG's version of the friends & family beta that blizz runs with its employess. When the game is in actual flux. GGG has less employees, and maybe not enough to make a purely internal beta viable at getting the amount of testing done they need.

Taking that early stage of the beta public decreases the amount of time you spend in beta, because the much larger playerbase running through the content is getting much more testing done.

Open beta will likely be more akin to what D3 is doing now, stress tests, rarity tweaks based on watching a larger scale economy, balancing numbers, polishing.

Finally, I know I intend to play D3. I intend to play this too, since it starts off free, I have no upfront commitment to it. I will likely spend money on it too, increased stash, extra char slots, that sort of thing. Both are good games, at least so far, IMO.

I think its at the point where people who have not gotten a key and are active on the forum see all of these inactive people getting keys, this creates resentment. However, people that have the keys see it as "who cares you will get it one day, I had to wait too."

Ive been waiting forever(and have registered about 20 emai addresses with no beta key lol) but its a F2P game that looks fantastic. They havent made people wait for an unreasonable amount of time and considering whats been done by so few its well worth the wait. Did I mention its going to be F2P?

Im anxious too and dont have a beta but im not about to slam the company for it, theyre doing great work and need to keep it up.

Seriously , i am a member for PoE for almost or more than a year. I just got my Beta invite . Guys , it worth the wait ! it a really great game ! so far , i'm level 13 and i am addicted ! It is kind of a blend between Diablo 1 , 2 and torchlight and titan quest . They took what best of every games and put it together. I am beta member as well of diablo 3 and so far , i am more impress by PoE...
