Make heretic's veil great again.
It's cute and it seems strong but it's actually very meh because blasphemy is awful in the current meta, after the AOE nerf, it's just absurdly weak (edit: now is not so bad because auras/curses got flat radius, still not very good though after all the nerfs to ES), specially because the lvl 22 embed gem can't have quality (so no increase curse effect).
I guess the fix would require a change in how blasphemy works itself, increasing it's base AOE a bit.... while heretics could use some increased curse effect. Because atm it's a really expensive slot for just 280 es, some (decent) evasion, but no resists, accuracy, intelligence, anything useful. Suggestion 1: simply put more stats into it, more life, maybe some resistance, accuracy or attribute (strength/int). Suggestion 2: Make it have either curse on hit+ Lesser Multiple Projectiles level 22 or blasphemy lvl 22 +20-30% increased curse aura aoe. Buff life on the right side of the tree! Just a little! I agree. I thought it would be good to use with double cursing, but with the reduced AOE it's kind of hard to use.The energy shield and evasion are nice, but I think I would have been better off with curse on hit b/c of better effectiveness, better reach, and less mana reservation. I'm using discipline and 2 curses with an enlighten, but it's not as good as I thought it would be. For defensive curses (temporal chains+enfeeble), they only take affect when you're literally right next to the enemy or getting stormed. Anything that shoots projectiles at you won't suffer under the curses.

Lol are you kidding? You can curse a mob from offscreen with a Carcass or Beast Fur chest if you're playing an AoE build.

Of course it's not true!
Typical setup 20 blasphemy 20 curse maybe 1 aoe cluster on tree ~ 270% inc aoe = 370% aoe = maybe 1.8x base radius theres 0 chance an additional 50 aoe from tree or gear is gonna have a cover radius go offscreen. You need values of the same order of scaling so quare 270% (2.7) inc aoe to like 800% (8.0) inc aoe and you'll maybe double the total radius, which still would maybe start touching the edge of the screen. edit: whoops not 270% inc aoe, 170% inc aoe (about 75+75+few10s). It's 170% increased but you square the end result (2.70) not the increase anyways you get the point. Anyways the specific doesn't matter, just estimations because of how the scaling works a few % off doesn't really matter. By the way the records of aoe are builds testing pillar of caged god with 2000+ int. which mean you can get like maybe 150% aoe from pillar of caged god/ other gear at most. I find blasphemy still a very good defensive option. The AoE change didn't kill it and barely noticeable. If anything it's better that way coz it's more enganging for a player to play more careful instead of just facetanking everything

better boost would be just adding "Gems have 10% higher quality" in this item
