tried = only spent 20 ex on it.

I was wondering if the Scion wouldn't be a better choice in 3.0,

The Necromancer give :
3% aSpd / move Spd (as aura)
30% Inc. Damage (as aura)
20% all Res (as aura)
21% chaos Res from beacon of corruption (and the node before)
30% skill effect duration from Mistress of Sacrifice (and the node before)
Offering for yourself
and some useless things.

As a Scion you can get, from Necromancer :
30% Inc. Damage (as aura)
20% chaos Res (as aura)
20% skill effect duration
4% phys damage reduction
and from Guardian : 10% aSpd / move Spd (as aura)
5% block chance (as aura)
25% reduce effect of curse
Sharing charges (so 1less point to put in the tree)
3 passive points from ascendant
The choice to go at the Templar/Witch starter (which give 2 more passive points).

I'm surrely overlooking it, but with only those numbers, it seems to be better.

attack and cast speed from necromancer are per aura.

So that's what i forgot, thx.
i guess the 18% reduced mana cost for -8 elreon ring and the 23% for the -7 ring are for using shield charge without mana cost right?

if i use my -8 elreon ring and remove one 5% reduced mana cost jewel im at 13% but shield charge is still useable without any mana(/life) cost
Hey Demi, I started running this build and have a couple questions about the tree.

I'm wondering if taking the Shaper key node and then 3 points for a jewel slot is worth it. Do you get anything out of 1% life regen or 40% mana regen? Would it not be better to just save a point and spend 3 on a jewel slot somewhere else, such as the one near CI?

Also to a lesser extent I wonder if alchemist is worth getting. I know you have to upkeep your Coruscating Elixir, so duration helps, but that's only a .8 second duration increase. The increased effect of flasks seems almost entirely worthless besides adding a bit to rumis and quicksilver.

Hope you answer, thanks!
Hi,

why do you need Reduced Mana Cost of Skills on jewels ?

He answered that in the guide.

You get it so you can shield charge (which you use as your main form of movement) for free with an elreon ring (ring with -mana cost of skills).

You use blood magic and reserve all your hp for auras so you can't afford to pay hp for shield charge.

You could do that and get 2 extra points from tree, but an awkward UBER lab run is required. And you definitely won't be running auras at that point.
