[3.1] The Laserbeam! Crit Ball Lightning build - Clearspeed & Bosskills!

I tried following your build as much as possible, but I seemed to die in T1 Maps...

I made a transition in my tree midgame, so it's abit messed up.

Can I can some tips to improve? Thank You!

What's your life total and resists? It seems dangerously low with all those (unnecessary) uniques. I would get rid of Tabula Rasa and get a 5 link 140+ life chest. Also throw away the +5hp gloves and get some with at least +60 life. A Cast when Damage Taken Immortal Call Setup might save your ass more than you would think (look at my templar for which gems to use). Vessel of Vinktar also is pretty much the biggest boost in survivability for this build in my experience.

TLDR: focus on resistances first, life second, utility flasks third (Vinktar and Dying Sun or Atziris Promise), damage last. The build already has shitloads of damage, survival should be your focus. :)

Would anyone recommend using immortal call combo on the utily gems + golem?
Im having a lot of problem dying doing maps tier 9+.
@Panboox:

Couldnt explain it better than idioteque. :)

@moghat:

You can do that, barely necessesary later on tho.

I was able to archieve some comfort changes and even raised my DPS with a gem change in my main setup. Will update the guide this sunday.

Thank you for the suggestions. Do you have any dying sun to spare? It's quite expensive for a new player like myself

Ok, so before spending time in something that might not help me that much, I will ask for tips.
Yesterday I was basically getting 2-hit-kill's from a very fast tier 11 (rare and corrupted) boss and that made me very sad (=\).
I am also having problem with spell damage reflect, but for that I guess I should try Vessel of Vinktar.
But I still don't see how I could deal with that kind of boss...
Lifewise I'm with 4,1k + 1k shield, and for now I can't see me reaching 5k+, but I'm not too worried about it, at least for now. I'm also good on resist, aiming for 100% for any future resist penalty that I might find.
Damagewise I think I'm ok. Opal rings are really expenseive on Harbinger (40+ chaos), and I wanted to now if you recommend 2 Opal Rings or to use one Call of Brotherhood always.

EDIT: Forgot to link my character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/moghat/characters

EDIT2: I decided to try Immortal Call, it is working very well for me at the momento, but I'm still open for tips.

Update September 10th

-changed the main setup to more DPS
-as maintaining 4L aura is rather hard, aura setup is changed to be 3L now
-added stronger defense setup
-added a link to my current skilltree
-small changes in the gearing section (boot enchantment and another glove option)

Very nice, I like the new set-up. I played around with the same gem changes and for me it increases the DPS quite a lot. I also swapped some of my Jewels for a bit more Crit Multiplier to make up for the missing gem. I reached lvl 94 now, and this is my (final) gear:

Any suggestions? I have 6.6k Life and 1.4k ES.

I barely die now when I do Guardians, and they die really quickly. Of course that also has to do with the fact, that I had to learn how to properly fight them, but the character feels pretty strong about now.

I was also able to try the Shaper now a couple times. While I failed 3 out of 4 times in the third and last Phase without any previous deaths, I realize that the Build is really stable and strong. I only died because I didnt know the proper strategie for the fight, and I will still have to improve the execution, especially when it comes to the spheres that fuse to the ground upon touching them.
Anyway, I will play around a little more and hopefully beat it today or tomorrow (I am actually out of Guardian Maps or currency, so maybe only on the weekend :D )
@Brize:

Nice to hear that! :)

Meanwhile i am taking on Shaper with 0-1 rips usualy, it is all about training. Your gear looks well, i'd only recomend to get either 0.6% life/mana leech or 1-160 lightning damage enchant on your boots. 0.6% life/mana leech will make map clear a lot smoother, 1-160 lightning damage will increase damage against add free bosses massive.

Another small upgrade would be to replace your current Vinktar flask with a "adds #-# lightning damage to spell's" one.

---

Currently i am experimenting with The Tempest's Binding. It seems promising, adds flat lightning damage, generates frenzy for more cast/attack speed and it's Harbinger is able to shock any non-immun enemy (even guards & Shaper) every 4 seconds. I didnt got the right enchantment yet, but im sure The Tempest's Binding will turn out to be a superior helmet for this build. :)
