I just uninstalled and reinstalled catalyst 13.1 and there is no option anywhere in the catalyst install manager mentioning ccc. my folder under programs for amd engine control center is also empty. everything i searched with google about uninstalling ccc is at least 3 years old and doesnt seem to apply to me...

I might have a solution for all ATI users who has FPS drops on certain skills/areas.
I went from 200 to 4 fps during certain skills/areas. Now i never go below 37fps which is really playable - with any number of zombies, members, lightning or iceshoots there is.
I tried many different drivers and combos so see what was causing the fps drop for me and after a days seartching ive found the cause: CCC.
It appears there is an issue if you have had 12.x driver/ccc installed and then updated to a new driverversion. This caused windows installer to break/fail when trying to remove some certain registerfiles relating to CCC.
my solution:
1. Re-register Windows installer
-a Start -> run -> type 'cmd' -> type 'msiexec /unregister'
-b Start -> run -> type 'cmd' -> type 'msiexec /regserver'
-c close the 'cmd' window
2. Uninstall your ATI CCC via 'add/remove program' (start -> run -> appwiz.cpl) dont reboot yeat.
3. Download and run the ATI-Catalyst removal utility from AMD and then reboot
4. Install the 13.1 driverpack from AMD -> chose modified installation -> Untick 'Catalyst Control Center' from the list and install the rest.
5. In PoE: turn V-sync off, post processing on and AA set to "Trilinear Filtering"
6. Now you can install CCC ceperatly (will run smoother w/o ccc tho)
Lets hope this will solve the issue for any other ATI user!
If it did, make a post and we will find out if its related to more then my 3 machines with ATI cards ^^
I know that someone might think this is a regular driverclean - its not, you have to use the official AMD CCC-removal tool for this to overwrite the issue caused by a trigger command in the register for windows installer (msiexec)
Note: This is not a fix for the crashes that some ATI users have reported, only fps drop.
And your GPU load will be used up to 100% now and dont go idle
Did work for me ^^, my gameplay it's too much better now! thanks very much
I play like 2 hours and I have just 1 fps drop and freeze, just one ^^

Can someone give me a link to this download? Not sure if I found the right one as I couldn't untick CCC anywhere.

I'm having the same problem. OP, could you please be more specific? I downloaded the 13.1 driverpack from the AMD website and selected custom install, but nowhere does it mention CCC.

Just to update, I went ahead and applied the fix anyway (aside from unchecking CCC at the installer) and while the problem of FPS spikes persists, it has definitely improved somewhat. The drops are less severe and happen less often, loading times also seem to be faster.

Turning V-sync off seems to yield bigger FPS dips and more stuttering.
As for the AMD cleaning utility, would Atiman uninstaller give the same results ?
Anyway, this is not really a fix, just a little bandaid, as the fps drops are still very
annoying.
Ive tried every driver from 12.2 yo 13.2 beta 6, the 13.xx series being prone to crashes, and the results are very similar.
I dont know how Nvidia cards perform but im getting tired of ATI.

I'm puzzled why you all have drops?
I've played POE on three cards now.
ATI 6850
Nvidia 460
ATI 7970
All three cards ran the game just fine with minimal frame rate drops.
Heck the game only uses 17% of my cpu. With the 7970 my frames do not drop below 59fps, which is where I have it locked.

FPS drops mostly occur in act3 merciless, in large parties with a lot of AoE spells.
Try the docks merciless with a bunch of casters.

Is there a way to deinstall this files manuel? That Program runs only on win 7.

Thanks a lot! i didnt even installed CCC after following this tips but i did show noticeble performace boost.
I almost never stuttered going to piety! piety fight was still with stuttering but 3times less.
Screenshoting still makes pc lag for 5sec. Lunaris temple is almost lagless.. Did some maps, and they run much smoother.
I swear if they make some maven "Simon says" insta-death minigame, sirus, exarch ball minigame then i wont play poe2.
