life vs ES - what 2.5 brings us..

well, this:


is there anyone who believes that current situation is anything BUT bonkers?

the amount of 'good+' items for ES builds is mounting. number of good life-based items is limited to (already not worth talking about)


most streamers/racers already play CI or will play CI soon. even if that means higher prices - people will pay because the alternative is mediocricity without hope

can anyone explain this amulet? pretty please...

Well here GGG's logic.

People say Life sucks in end game.
People say ES is too strong in end game.
Let's fix life builds by giving them ES and turning it into hybrids.

Hybrids wont get any benefit from "20% life converted into ES". You dont want to trade HP for ES as hybrid, you want BOTH!
This mod is godly for low-life builds, which are in fact offensive pure ES builds. One more nail into "life's" coffin

Yeah that amulet screams low life all the way. Can't be stunned, chaos res and life to ES conversion. Maybe hybrid because it has a stun immunity... so it's an option, kind of.

I didn't expect anything for 2.5 when it comes to melee and life and whatever.. I would expect to see something more in 3.0.

wait why does perseverance have a life and res roll ?
this makes it bis for most life builds by default. wtf

My guess is the balance team loves the ES builds they play a lot and they love the mockery of life builds. There is no other explanation.

end-game life builds have around 2000-3000 base Life before increases, and 100 to 250% increased maximum Life

most favorable sccenario: 10% increased max Life grants about 300 net max Life; +40/+99 life/+50 STR grants about 165 base life which would mean at least 330 net max Life, more likely about 500 net max Life

rares can get 45% each resistance for a total of 135%

hardly bis by my understanding of the term "bis"

i can assure you - Perseverance is 'ok' at best in practice.

- %life roll is similar to 80 flat life on most builds, id rather use this if i had wanted life from my belt

- one resist is 'ok'
- the attack damage is ~30-40% at best for heavy ar/ev builds USING FLASKS! most players wont see more than 8k of the lowest ar/ev value without flasks if that
- onslaught does not show as a buff and in fact is more about 20% movement speed than anything else
- you cannot really vaal it for +end charge because.. well whats the point then
- free fortify while clearing is cool but fails on bosses as all non meta effects. so you get two bonuses while clearing (not really needing them) and you do not get two bonuses when you would like to have them (bosses/single encounters). cool. not.




it is a nice item but it being lvl80+ while ES builds get candy for free is pretty revolting at this point

youll be able to buy this belt for peanuts soon enough. ive paid 3ex and while i think i made a fair purchase i cannot help seeing it going into 10c range pretty soon. so much hype so little substance. and ES is just better in every way still so who cares..

fair enough, I may have been exaggerating it a bit. for a lot of builds using uniques, a 110 life, 35+ all res leather belt is still bis

but for melee builds perserverance looks really, really good.
