Poison and Trap Mechanic Question
Hello, I have a Vortex Trapper build with Pyre, Elemental Equilibrium and two Consuming Dark daggers.
I read on the wiki that some things can affect both the skill that causes the poison and also the poison dot itself. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Poison "note that some of these stats apply only to the poison whereas some may also apply to the skill that triggered it" I was wondering if my Trap skill gem and my trap damage nodes would double dip and affect both the application of the poison and also the dot of the poison. Trap Support specifies it applies to hits only. trap damage passives will affect both hit and DoT damage. Trap and Mine Damage Support does not specify anything so it should also work on both

I repeat, trap damage modifiers still affect damage over time, Remote mine and Trap supports are the only things that were changed to not affect DoT

if im wrong in this then trap and mine bladefallers arnt exactly gutted as they only lost a measly 1 more multiplier from a specific gem support and their massive 300-500% Increased trap/mine/chaos/poison/DoT damage multiplier together with 140% More from controlled/concentrated/trap&mine damage still retains...
whats the point of GGG getting rid of DoT from 2 gems again if 1 shotters still exist? they probably moved on from uber atziri to the shaper, just not showing any videos Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? " This 1 "measly" more multiplier reduces the poison damage by a third in Remote Mine case and by almost a third in Trap case. Combined with poison 20% less damage nerf, it brought both archetypes down a bit. Have you considered, that maybe GGG's goal wasn't to "gut" a play style completely? You know, cause they are not some evil overlords trying to ruin your life, despite what some people might think. Side note: Controlled doesn't double dip on Bladefall poison. |
