" I haven't watched the fighting scenes. Only checked out his stats and equipment. Though if you saw that amout of leech im pretty sure you're right. My toon was around lvl54 when took VP, but it seems it was not the highest amount of leech what helped him that much, but the faster leech. Havent really looked back on VP since then. It just feelt great at first so i haven't really rethought it since then. Anyways i'm glad that i was proven semi-wrong. CI is screwed up with the abnormal status effects already (stun/burn/freeze/shock) 'cos of the missing HP pool, i'm just glad that it has no effect on the leech. I will still gonna keep my VP anyways. Last edited by prh#1855 on Feb 23, 2013, 6:06:47 AM

Having any ES left gives you a 50% resistance to stun. Burn is not calculated based on HP, and shock and freeze are still calculated based on your base HP before CIs reduction.

GR is far from useless without Vaal Pact - regenerating 20% of your ES per second in combat (with an intermittency that depends on how well you can leech) is a pretty big deal. VP is certainly a strong choice for CI builds, though. You could take Zealot's Oath instead and get some steady regen, but you don't tend to get very much regen on a typical ES-focused build unless you go out of your way to collect it, and unlike a life-based build, you don't need regen to heal you up between fights.

@Incompetent:
I never said that GR alone is useless. My impression was (and still is until someone can proof the opposite) that GR in combination with CI is pretty useless without VP. The reason for this is that with CI the game uses total life as if the player doesn't have CI to determine stuns and elemental status effects. Life leech is capped at 20% of max-life per second. For a CI user life-nodes are useless as total life becomes 1 anyway. So if the game still uses max-life to determine max-leech (as it does for status effects) then GR seems to be pretty useless (leech capped at very low levels due to the low max-life) for CI users.
