Deadeye or Assassin for a Bleed/DoT Bow-Build?
Hi guys,
trying to figure out what would be the best way to come up with for my planed Build for Atlas of Worlds and i can't realy decide what is the best setup. First of all: I plan on doing an Tornado Shot build for this season. Also I have seen the new bow that will ber released (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIAg1vuL9kE). So as you can see I'm planning on doing an Tornado Shot build that does Bleed-Damage with a Drillneck Quiver (guess it is BiS). For that I came up with two different skill tree possibilitys: The first one ist the Deadeye Ranger: The second one ist the Assassin Shadow: So the Problem that I got is, that I can't figure out, which skilltree supports the best way to get threw the endgame. I estimate, that the Deadeye-Build will get faster to the early endgame but I miss some great chance of inflicting enemies with Chaos Damage (Poison) from the Noxious Strike Assassin Ascendency Class (AC). Thanks to the Assassin Ascendancy Class I suspect that this tree is dealing more damage in the endgame. Also see this video from ZiggyD about his Assassin Reacher from Prophecy-League which gave me the idea for the whole thing here. Hope someone got some experience and could answer me until Friday :D Greetings Desaroth PS: Sry for the eventually bad english :P Last edited by Desaroth#2931 on Aug 31, 2016, 11:46:26 AM Last bumped on Sep 2, 2016, 4:34:29 AM

The reason why dead eye wasnt and isnt popular is because it is not just about procing bleeds or poison.. its about how well you can scale bleeds or poison.
and the simple fact is .. assassin scales those damage sources more than dead eye.. and that is quite literally all there is too it the 100% more poison on crit doubles what ever your poison multi is. this means you can go from a situation where you have say 800% poison damage to 1600% poison damage. this is not something a dead eye can come even close to. and the assassin can very easily get his crit chance into the 80s or 90s with very little effort. it is not a small difference here we are talking in some cases the assassin can have more tha 50% or even 80% dot damage over dead eye |

Take every 10% projectile damage node you can get, those double dip with the poison damage (Ranger start, take those all).
I will go the same route for the new ladder but with Spectral Throw + Bino's Dagger for 80-90% crit chance. A better skill tree would be this: Click me Make
Spectral Throw great again |

A well-spec'd Assassin will deal vastly more DoT damage than Deadeye can, especially with guaranteed Poison application from things like Cospri's Will, Snakebite, or even a regular Poison support gem. If you're running a Slivertongue to generate Bleeds, that's pretty much everything Deadeye does for bleeding right there, and Deadeye has nothing whatsoever for Poison.
A Tornado Shot DoT build is pretty much always going to want Assassin. Deadeye's better for funky things or mostly-elemental builds. She/Her

Yeah, Assassin will give you much better damage and with more consistency than a Deadeye.
Also, drop things like Heavy Draw and get all your Frenzy charges and the survivalist node. Bow only passives don't double dip, while frenzy charges do (4% MORE damage, with no conditionals). Survivalist gives you max resistance, something really useful, specially if you are going for the essence league and craft or buy a rare chest with physical damage taken as cold. |

Thanks for your help guys. Guess I started that thread because somewhere in my brain I got that thought too but heard that some guys played it on deadeye. Also a reason for this was the Dirty-Techniques - SkillNote which would have better synergy with the assassin class bc the chance to poison bleeding enemies is much higher. Last thing that makes me thinking around is if it will be hard to level this as an assassin.

Where does one get Frenzy Charges from?

" Not really. I played an AssReacher variant in Proph, it was about as simple to level as any other bow character. Blitz to level 32 with whatever you can find/a convenient Storm Cloud and Split Arrow, then grab a Death's Harp and start Tornado-ing. Upgrade to Death's Opus whenever you can afford the prophecy for it. Grab a Drillneck whenever you can - there's a prophecy that guarantees a Drillneck drop, I got it two or three times in Proph league, it shouldn't be too earth-shatteringly difficult to find. Shoot things with Opus until you find/buy a Slivertongue. Do the rest of your gear as is appropriate. She/Her

" I will run an Blood Rage setup for that and also I guess I will use an assassinsmark CoH-Setup to get a higher chance to generate Power Charges (for more then the 10% from Assassins AC) @1453R Hope to get that ASAP. got one drillneck prophecy last season and the Death's Opus too. |

" I can tell you from experience that the Power Charge generation with 10% per Hit is quite enough to sustain it (Lvl 80 ST build with 5 projectiles). But Assassins Mark also increased the crit damage so it's a BiS curse. Forgot Blood Rage, changed my ST Poison build for it, now 6 Frenzy Charges + 3,6% Life reg to counter the 4% damage :).
