Actually you can hit 80% if you're willing to use a Lightbane Raiment (which has 30% phys to chaos, but shitty defensive stats and -light radius). And if you equip 2x Ming's Heart and grab the Force Shaper notable you can add 45% physical as extra chaos, resulting in 125/145ths of your damage (86.2%) being phys-to-chaos.

And Viperstrike has an innate 25% of phys converted to chaos, so you could actually get a 100% phys to chaos viperstrike, although you'd have to resign yourself to attacking with Innsbury and using a weak chest. Still might be kinda interesting, I might have to try it sometime.



As to the op, like other people have said, chaos isn't something you're meant to convert over to easily, especially not in full. It has far too many advantages over other damage types with virtually no drawbacks.
