Standard rules for league events apply. Please click this link if this is your first race event.
A guide has been posted here which covers general aspects and strategies of racing.

Dead characters will still receive reward points.

A summary of Alternate Start events:

Unlike regular races, Alternate Start events do not begin in Act 1, Normal. They can begin in any act or difficulty after that. These areas are the same level as they appear in the regular game, and are not scaled down for these events.

To compensate, Alternate Start Events provide pre-levelled characters with unallocated skill trees, who start with basic gear and skill gems appropriate to their level. These race types are also voided.

This event begins in Act 2, Normal, in The Forest Encampment.

Characters start at Level 12, with 13 unallocated passives.

Active Mods
The following league mods are active during this event:
  • Fixed Seed: All instances of a given area have the same area layout, for all players. Multiple Race Events will regularly have the same seed. That is, the instance area layouts will be same in all the races of a fixed seed set. This includes all Signature events.
  • Multiple Projectiles: Monsters have four additional projectiles when using projectile based skills/attacks.
  • Turbo: Monsters run, attack and cast 60% faster than normal.

A summary of Time based events:

Time based events are designed to create a competitive environment where players compete not by character experience, but by their ability to progress through the game and complete specific objectives, such as killing bosses.

The boss required to be defeated for this race is: Piety, located in The Lunaris Temple (Level 2).

  • The time recorded is based from the beginning of the race, not when your character is created.
  • Characters will not appear on the ladder until they have completed the objective.
  • Characters are not required to have completed the time based objective in order to receive points for the other objectives, such as points awarded for reaching certain levels.
  • Characters who die after completing the objective will still be counted for receiving reward points.
  • Points are awarded at the end of the race, do not delete your characters until they have been moved to the permanent leagues.

Boss Kill Prizes:
The following are awarded to all players to complete them, not just the first.
  • Kill The Vaal Oversoul in Normal difficulty: 1 Reward Point.
  • Kill Piety in Normal difficulty: 4 Reward Points.

Top Prizes:

M stands for masters, T for ?
Eleron to level 4 in less than an hour :)

Omg that gives me an idea. Not a normal kind of race but you know how there are hideout design contests and stuff? How about a timed one? Like, you have 4 hours to level whatever masters you can find and create a hideout design. Would be neat cuz you'd have to balance your time between designing, hunting for more rep/exp, etc. I guess it wouldnt work as a scheduled event that well though because there would be so many people submitting designs... hmm.

nice idea imo
but maybe it should be longer than 4h or faster to level masters as it is pretty hard to do anything cool with low level decorations

Ok how about this. Infinite daily missions for a couple hours, all masters start at level 1. Then a couple hours to design afterwards. That sounds like more fun too ya?
woo last one to finish where is my demigods?
