" Easy Solution: Right Click on the Orb and u get +1 on ur Revive Counter, which you can see under "p" or "c" etc. (like Orb of Regret) Or a extra slot for the this Orb somewhere. or like u said, usable from the stash. When we buy from the Vendor we can use Orbs from the stash to, i can´t see any reason why it should not work with this orb. I would be quite fine with slight damage to xp and temporary damage to your stats, as you sort of regain your senses. Maybe slow movement. A deep breath or two.

i might be a little late but by reading this tread, i came up with the following idea: you have a constant +50% item rarity bonus, for as long as you live when you die, you lose this bonus constantly, but you dont lose exp when you die the second time, the exp loss begins(not on normal mode tho) when you reach act2, your find bonus returns, and you have it, until you die.. you dont lose exp the first death, but the find bonus when you reach act3, same again etc etc for the highest difficulty, remove the find bonus completely or add it constantly with like 20%, not removable to dying, but make a high exp penalty, so the player loses at least half an hour! the ''perfect play'' would be rewarded greatly this way, but it wouldnt be such a big loss if u die its still closed beta so theres still room for ideas i guess and @ GGG: YOU = AWESOME! :D edit: maybe add a level wich players can reach through forming a specific portal to the ''spiritworld'' or whatever where you can fight your way along to the end, to find the shrine of fortune wich restores that buff, but make the level hard and bad/no loot/no death penalty within this place... so the players can try, and if theyre strong enough, they can have their fortune back. it wouldnt be rewarding to do it if you die too often anyways but it would enable the players to correct the mistake of dying, if it was lag or just a stupid mistake wich usually doesnt happen to them i for my part like the idea of magic find but i rarely find myself equipping magic find... and i'd really like to be rewarded for never dying :) was hc player in d2 for years ;) almost no losses revival orb also seems to be a nice idea i dont like the idea of crippling your character as death penalty.. i say traditional exp loss, no level loss or the one i postet/both maybe implement revival orbs, why not... but dont make them accessible from the stash.. its 1 square that shouldnt be a problem... i dont make me a bacon/cheese toast from my toaster when im at work, cause its at home.. simple as that Last edited by DeathManiac#5609 on Jul 6, 2012, 9:16:59 AM

I also like the idea of the revival orb, 1 more rare item to be exited about when you find it is always good!
With this orb in the game, losing flat XP is ok because it would mean that this orb functions as a backup for your XP resulting in a better ladder position. |

I am a MMO/RPG Veteran with 12 years of Experience in this kind of games.
I would love to see a death pentalty that would be like this: When you die you will lose Experience, higher level you are more exp you lose. In PVP I would like to see a % chance that a item that is equipped will drop it could be any slots its randomized. |

" While I personally hope a death penalty isn't ever added, I understand the appeal of one. If one is implemented, Please, by all means, do not let it be this for pve. I know some people like it, but with games like this, especially new ones I'm just learning, I cannot stand de-leveling from dying. There are a lot of things wrong with d3 imo, as an example, but they didn't do this, and I was grateful in so many words I could not express. I do not have fun when I'm having to regain experience/levels anymore. I do, however, like the idea that was mentioned of having to "backpay" experience after reviving. Yes, I understand you're still "working back" for that experience, but it keeps us from dropping levels for death. A cap of said "backpay" would be good too. Just my two cents |

Copy Diablo 2 death penalties verbatim IMHO. Right down to retrieving your corpse from the spot you died. I miss circling around and herding a gigantic horde of demons and occasionally teleporting with my naked sorceress to pick up my body. I understand that I won't be able to teleport without my items equiped with this game's skill system, just reminiscing.

yea dropping items on death is a no-no, that would make people stop playing the game, especially in pvp.. for the default league anyway
I think running back to where you died is annoying enough TBH, especially when the WP is ages away from it. |
