Need insight into Totem Bladefall build

Following this guide and have a few questions. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1526658

For survival gems it has Immortal call. But from what I can tell, no way to build endurance charges. As i'm a new player with little experience, is it worth running Immortal Call with no Endurance generation?
Also in the gear listed (specifically boots) instead of the recommended Cast When Damage Taken(1) - Immortal Call(3) - Increased Duration(20) - Rallying Cry(20), he is running IC - cast when damage taken, tempest shield, and Chaos golem. Why is this?


Which golem would you recommend? I'm having trouble understanding Chaos Golem. Does it just reduce phys damage? Right now i'm running flame as it's easy enough to understand, "19% more damage".


This person also recommends Vaal haste with Vaal lightning trap, but in his gear goes Cast When Damage Taken with Arctic Breath. Can anyone help me understand the differences in these two choices.
