SSF 2 week, and why now is the right time.

SSF is inherently flawed in that the drop rates for existing crafting orbs are also currencies used for trade and as such are needlessly rare for the SSF player, yet appropriate for everyone else.

I'd normally advocate for a SSF short league with specific modifiers to craft orbs, but that's a pipedream so we may as well let it die.

As such, this 2 week event is the only chance we've got to try out SSF without it feeling brutal...thanks to perandus.

That said, if we opt for flashback (currently in lead), we can 100% count on the same top (popular) racers (streamers) sweeping the whole deal. No hate, just facts.

At least with SSF there is the possibility of (or delusion?) That some previously unknown individuals might take a crown or two.

And if the same folks win regardless? Well, that'll quiet the trolls a bit who state that these folks only win races/leagues because of their support base.

The best racers will have a crushing advantage in SSF. Don't expect new faces. Every short race is SSF and the players who are best at it are well known.

Read below what was quoted. I too believe the best racers would likely win out. There is much to be said about believing the game to be rigged or fair though -and SSF would ultimately put everyone on a level enough playing field.

Plus you're only partially right. You're not accounting for perandus himself. It's extremely likely top racers/streamers would get folks msging them their bro deals to purchase that would give them a keener edge off of someone who would either have to rely on his own bro deals or watch global/trade like a hawk to out bid others for a listed deal.

Nonsense on so many levels. You want a "level playing field". You're not going to find it here. Flooding the game with higher drop rates on orbs wont help level the playing field. It will help those players who know how to exploit it... ie the same people that are currently leading in the races. It will do nothing to help what you see as a problem (where there isn't one). You're trying to blame the game for you not being one of the winners.

I agree with OP, the Big Game Streamers have too many bitchboys as it is (not my word but I plan on using it a lot). SSF would not "level the playing field" naturally but it sure would help, *ahem* looking at streamers that go quiet for 24 hours then emerge fully geared @ lvl 90.

Plus, I already did everything on perandus and was taking a break, general SSF would pull me out of "retirement".

Plus, SSF is the kind of mod that would keep people playing for 2 weeks (I'd love hearing that Thump when they hit Merciless).

Firstly I'll say I'm not a fan of SSF, just get that out of the way early.

I believe streamers aren't the problem, even if they do receive some sort of help. Even if there weren't any poe streams. People would still get help reguardless. The people that do stream, happen to be some of the same people that play poe the hardest. I don't think you would see this huge equal change you're talking about.

Poe is focused more on hardcore gamers (not just the league type), so of course you will attract people that play ridiculous hours.
