Talisman definetely not that lame, and you can't obtain those with Coins. Half of them bought by an affordable price and the others just looted. HC SSF Harbinguer : Templar Inquisitor, LVL 94 (RIP). I dont know... Talisman was fine but you had to invest time to have very rare and valuable items.
Im taking a break during Perandus league because it started so quickly after talisman, gonna start soon but taking it easy. It seems that people are getting bored faster in Perandus than in Talidman because of easier way to obtain items and finishing challengues. HC SSF Harbinguer : Templar Inquisitor, LVL 94 (RIP). I *hope* that they just removed Talisman because they're taking a long, hard look at how to integrate it into the core game.
Honestly, I can't believe they would go to all the effort of creating Rigwald and all those other effects just to throw it away. It was a really cool league idea but had poor execution. I hope to see it in-game again after Perandus ends. |

The reason Talismans were not added to the core game is because Talismans have the potential to become far too powerful, and once it is added to standard people will have an unlimited amount of time to farm them (rather than just having 3 months during the league).
This would eventually invalidate all regular amulets. For example, talismans such as Primal Skull that give 2% life regen would become the go-to for all righteous fire builds and thus no one would ever consider using Shaper's Seed (why take a bunch of useless stats on your neck when you could at least get something useful from a Talisman?) It's interactions like this that GGG wanted to avoid. Legacy SC IGN: Octora

" Kinda agree when you said about good idea but REALLY bad and NO NO realization / super poor execution. Farm trillion talismans when RARE talisman almost no near dropping range and as rare as T1 unique and you need 500+ for T4 just absurd bullshit. Talisman makes Ambush looks "plausible", why take it back? I guess you only play in SC/HC didn't have the bad experience?

It was quite frankly the worst league of all (Rampage being second strong contestant). I'd say just add Unique Talismans to random drop, and nobody will know the difference.
" So you saying them being useful is a bad thing. Err, what? Giving people incentive to farm impossibly high amounts of talismans to get your build working is nothing bad. And given how many you need to get, to be able to roll something decent, I guarantee they would never replace regular ones. Add the fact they cannot be Mirrored, and it is nothing as dangerous as you say it would be. Bear in mind that they would be far less frequent, making it even harder to farm. Not that I'd farm them, because it is pointless (and this is why it wouldn't be such a big deal), but this is something they spend a lot of time developing, and thrown in the bin in the end. Feels like a waste. Also, I love these Lore Stones. Mmmmmm. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
