GhazzyTV - Essence Drain & Contagion (or Bane/Soulrend) Trickster [SC/HC/Uber Elder/Shaper]

Hey Ghazzy !
Playing this build long time now,pushing it into Tier 12 so far.(barely lvl 89)
Got myslef a Empower Lvl 3 now and all 20/20 gems now.
Got a 91% spell dmg with dmg over time dagger + Rathpith and everything.
Also have enough curency for a 6L now,as i dont want the Tabula.

Now my thought,
Is it possible to go evasion with this build ? Just respect out of Iron Refelex ?
Would you recommend it or not ?
I heard that Armour does not do much in super late Game after Tier ~8 maps.
just curious how far i can psu hthis build :P

The thing is that I follow the passive tree but there's only life nodes and chaos/damage over time nodes at this lvl and I almost ripped like 2 or 3 times yesterday...

What should I do being safer? Any aura to advise?

-Could you explain me if you first curse group of ennemies with contagion AND THEN throwing your essence drain OR you throw essence drain to hit an ennemy AND THEN you curse a group before the projectile hit the target?

Because, this is the first time I'm trying those skills gems and I'm still a bit confused about it...

Sure you can respec out of IR, I personally don't like Evasion based though!
It comes down to a matter of taste in the end, some prefer evasion some armour some mixed, my suggestion is to find your personal preference!

Heya!
Once you get Grace + IR sorted the incoming physical dmg taken should be minimized!

My tip is to play carefully, your DPS is fine just dodge your way through till you hit Grace + IR!

Contagion then ED is the rotation as you'll be one shotting some mobs later so make sure Contagion is on them before applying ED!

I would suggest checking out my first ED build which is linked in the youtube video for the mechanic guide for ED/Contagion plays! :)

Could you tell me at which lvl I should go for a dagger + shield instead of my 2 lifesprig?

At any time you'd get a spell dmg dagger/wand that gives you more DPS than that of a lifesprig. If 2, then equip 2.
When you get a shield that gives you HP & resistances and/or spell dmg you change that second wep for that as well, depending on what you need. If you are not res capped and low on life, prio higher on HP/Res shields than ES as well as spell dmg.

Breath Of The Council - yay or nay? Purely in terms of stats, not counting the change in mobility.

Nay, spell dmg dagger or wand grants much more dmg.
The radius nor the duration is not needed.

Hey Ghazzy, loving this build. I just started playing PoE again, did some speedrunning of D2 for a while. I absolutely love the playstyle of this build, remind me a lot of trap assassin in d2.


I have a couple of questions for you, if you don't mind:
1: Why do you skip Harrier when leveling? It looks amazing!
2: Does the chaos damage from the "Method to the madness" tree not work? Chaos damage and chaos resistance seems like a must have for this build, is there something I'm missing?
3: I'm doing a variant of your build where I'm thinking of not using Iron Reflexes. Is it worth it for me to take all those Dex nodes just to reach Dirty Techniques?

Hey!
Cheers bro, glad you're enjoying it a lot :)

As always, you can always ask me anything, and I'll always answer to the best of my ability;

1. Harrier only grants you slight movement and cast/atk speed. In the end we are focusing on whirling blades which means you only truly benefit from the atk speed to that which "Walk the Aether" is sorting. but sure, you could increase your clear speed slightly with it :)

2. It works just great, I felt that having both that & Growth & Decay was a bit overkill with all the other nodes I wanted for the build. For Softcore I can recommend getting both and drop some life. In hardcore I'd settle with 1 of them.

3. Dirty Teq gives you 70% increased damage over time, it's simmilar to equipping an "ok" dagger for the build, it is the highest dmg increasing nodes on the tree for the build, but if the skillpoint cost is too high to reach it when removing IR compared to picking up Method of Madness and/or other spell dmg increasers then obviously you should skip em.


Regarding your skilltree:
You're still in the lvling process and it depends if you're in hc or sc. If HC and your dmg is fine, then take more life nodes from now on. If in SC bring in the Sniper node for a slight increase in QoL and move from there :)

Thanks for the great answer. I got some lags, died twice in HC this league already so this one is SC. Still not sure about that long walk down for Dirty techniques, even though it's so good.
Are there any good nodes you were thinking about that didn't make the cut? The shield nodes with Command of Steel looks good to me, what you reckon?

I got some strong wands I found but my INT is too low, is that why we go daggers later?
