Memory Leak.

They updated to a new .Net redist on 2.2. So the PoE client is probably feeling the brunt of it. I don't envy GGG's tech team right now. Definitely pulling all nighters :/ God speed boys, god speed!

was always like this for me, it would start at 1.6Gb - 1.7Gb(at min game settings; the higher the settings the higher the ram usage is at start) and at about 2.6gB - 2.7Gb i'd have to restart it.
i don't think it's a memory leak; the game just doesn't dump previously loaded things.

Yes I kept crashing .... a real problem !
Does this game use a lot of memory? I have 8GBs of DDR3 RAM and thought about upgrading to 16GB 1600mhz RAMs, but not sure if it's a purchase worth.

It is not windows 10 issue. It is GGG issue. I rule that out by playing a diff game on the same OS.

for me it was 100% win10 issue.

the amount of people using the terms 'memory leak' wrong in this thread makes me shed a tear. a program can be a memory hog and have zero memory leaks. or leak like crazy but not be a memory hog unless running 24/7 for a month.

What was the issue with win10?

may be because it is Poe client having problem with Win10?

I have no other games having this issue on win10. When I quit all the games my memory usage back down to 1.4-1.7GB.

But As soon as I launch Poe, play for a while = my memory usage jump up and stays there even after I quit POE, it still hovers around 3.9GB.

I kinda wonder does our developer read this side of the forum. :S Chris seems to said about the 32bit 4GB issue, I am not sure he know this one or not.

Memory leak can and often does mean a 'liveleak'.

Throwing something into a cache every few minutes and never clearing that cache is indistinguishable from a "real" memory leak where you lose the reference. Eventually an allocation fails and bob's your uncle.

The reality is that, at least right on release, memory usage continued to grow and eventually resulted in bad allocs (usually during zone transitions, i.e. needing to pull in more assets but not freeing old ones). I haven't seen one in a while, so they may have solved that issue already.

Not sure what the Win10 issues are about -- been running Win7(sp1) since release and now.
on win10, had PoE running for 12 hours without issues today.

If it were a leak I should have crashed hours ago. completed A2/3/4 on merc in addition to labs.

didn't even get a disconnect now that I think about it, been a good day.
