so you think that picking a marauder and traveling to vaal pact is a sensible move? why not pick a shadow instead and link counterattack with life leech and achieve similar stuff? or just pick pathfinder and drink Vinktar as toull habe perma uptime and 50%+ flask effect?

i see that you want to dwsperately make it look good but this is a conditional bonus that can and will fail to trigger in the worst possible time. i can live with conditional damage bonuses. but conditional survivability bonuses are as good as no bonus whataoever

not to mention that all other berserk nodes are just bad. the 'advertisement' video for this class is bland and boring. also compare the clear speed and gameplay of it and pathfinder. it is quite clear that this is the filler class noone gives a damn about. 100% inc damage.. in practice 20%more damage. highlight of a class increases the tooltip from 12 to 15k dps. just wow.

I aggre 100% with sidtherat on this, the life and mana leech node that you are forced to take is pure garbage as he said because its 100% useless vs bosses that dont have weak monsters around them for you to get that leech.

The good nodes are the warcry one and the movment and attack speed one and i supose the 100% attack dmg is ok if you are going to make a ranged build (that 10% extra dmg taken is suicide for melee on heavy moded end game maps and atziri).

Best way to fix this would be to remove the on kill eff for the leech and reduce it to 1% life and mana leech (tho no reason for this honestly since having both 2% life and mana leech on a node considering other ascendancy nodes isint op) also remove the on kill for the stun immunity and dmg reduction one and make it something like "when you hit you have 20% chance of geting stun immunity and 5% reduced dmg taken" this would make it so that you can keep those up even on boss fights but it wouldt be op and as for Cloaked in Savagery the node is not even that great i honestly find the dmg and attack speed increase much better than the leech (the leech would be good if mara had vaal pact).
the warcry node also isnt any good - there are 3 warcries: enduring (as a melee heavy hitter you most probably use other form of end charge generation) so barely needed, rallying cry (insignificant damage boost and some mana regen - this might be handy in no regen/long fights) and abyssal cry for extra poof for packs (that already die easily..)

there are occasions where id like to cast several warcries quickly but.. these are not when playing melee guys. the 5% life/mana on cast is irrelevant and does nothing (in case of abyssal cry it pays for itself as the gem has horrid mana cost - good that one does not really need to level it)

so this one is out

the good nodes are the stun immunity and movement/attack speed ones. first one is very good even if conditional, second is just a very good node

remaining two points can be spend on the lesser nodes as these at least give something. berserk notables are just bad beside these two. Cloaked in Savagery is a giant trap designed to lure naive players (100% leech.. *some conditions apply. your leech cap is so small that you wont notice this leech at all). and the mana/life node is just a 'node tax'. you cannot rely on it (and drop other leech sources) so you do not need it. it is 100% pointless.


fortunately i only have 3 marauder characters and zero pressure to pick berserk. would take any other class (ANY) if it was possible
I acualy use enduring Cry for charge generation and it works well for my melee build and also since you are usualy in the middle of large packs as mara melee rallyng cry provides decent dmg, but all this is just my expirience and opinon.

As for the stun node the need to kill just ruins it i mean you take that and dont take unawering stance and you are litteraly fucked when you fight bosses.

In the end i think we can both agree that berserker needs a serious buff.
