I understand the preparation for life meta, but with the whole context of my sentence I meant to say I think the priorities should be on crafting ES for the following reasons:

The ES meta will likely remain among wealthy players in standard as they already have or will be still able to afford legacy ES gear, as the audience of such desired ring, so the demand will be high.

Once ES based, because of the vaal pact nerf, ES recharge will have the highest demand ever.

Life based gears will be getting new mods, which the current mirror crafts could be missing, and as you said socketing reasons.

Crafting such ring is not _that_ hard, you don't have to eternal before 4 or 5 stats, I can't afford it personally, but maybe you could:
The base cost of a 3-prefix ring is almost constant. Depending what non-crafted prefix mod you want, you only have to roll a single prefix, in case of 44-47 flat ES, which afaik is easy. Roll it on a ring as single stat, then regal any suffix (which will be cleaned). That should be below 1 ex on average, multimod, prefixes cannot be changed, %ES, faster recharge, scour for the 3-prefix base, for 6 ex total cost.
Then you can go for the 4th and 5th mods, I think a 5 mod should be still made without eternals.

Comparing to the cost of regular meta crafting, each try for a 5-mod item costs 4 ex for a regular item, and 8 ex for this type of ring, ignoring the cost of the base of the regular item, which can be really high, but for the ring it is included in each try.

The cost can even be lower than regular meta modding considering that with a regular item you are cleaning the same item over and over, while with this ring, you grab new base for each try, so a 5-mod ring that didn't get 2 T1 suffixes, but otherwise useful lower suffixes could be sold for good money since it has 3 perfect prefixes every time.

Okay, respectively of course, you are forgetting one important part that makes all of that moot.

You cannot meta mod these rings because you cannot do "prefixes cannot be changed" since master modding has already been done. You cannot even add "can have multiple crafted mods" AFTER a mod has been put on, it has to be put on first.

ES AFFIX + ES%-crafted + ES Recharge-crafted, as a 3mod item the only way to move it forward would be to eternal the next THREE suffixes. Using this method will not only be extremely costly, but you will have horrible odds because you cannot even block mods you don't want for the first 2 suffixes.

I think the only method would be to take a ring like:

and hope they add ES Recharge rate as a slammable prefix instead of leo-only. Do we have confirmation either way from beta yet if ES Reacharge rate is a slammable prefix on rings?

micromanagement is labour work. plebs, poor people have to do that. you might say ask, what about mathil? all he does is micromanagement.

he is all about killing bosses with crap gear and make things work what others would consider as crap: according to this analogy, glorified physical work like dancing - athletism - general physical sports is mathil and alike people does.

people like to use builds with insta leech and facetank. it's like office job with basic yet good paid responsibilities.

that's the reason why people pour all the currency to life builds.

You didn't either read his reply or understand it Ahfack..

Thanks for clarifying Lapiz that was totally my bad I'm an idiot lol. Read it quickly on my phone at a red light. I see what he's saying now. Alt, regal, multi mod, es/recharge, pref cannot changed - scour - slam - if good slam again.

So once you have your flat es ring 5exish to get it how you want and then double slam. So yeah around 7-8ex per try I see now.

Yeah that could take a few hundred to get the 5mod then you eternal the last mod but if you get those t1 suffixes it's gonna be GG. Hmmmmmm

I'll give this some thought for sure. Thanks to markusz and to Lapiz for clarifying for my ignorant ass :)

What do you think would be the best base they would want moonstone/opal/diamond?

I'm thinking moonstone tbh

i84 opal base can make it a lot more expensive if you want to get a new base for each try, so probably the others, or even unset. Also as you said you can't block suffixes for the slams.

Also the comparsion of costs I mentioned going for a 5-mod is not correct, as often you clean at 4 mods when it hits really bad, so it's rather 3 ex for regular and 7 ex for this type, so the difference is bigger, but it should still be doable if you sell the bricks and mediocre slams.

What do you think about an alt art Moonstone and then I can just go HAM on that base until I get 2 good suffixes?

Gonna sell a near perfect attack leg vinks and a couple other things soon and tbh, pretty intrigued by this idea, as I literally never thought of it before. If I get 55int straight off the bat on the first suffix I might even eternal from there since the whole point would be to get as much ES as possible on this ring.

Obviously unset would be awesome for low life/aura builds but I already have a +3 gems essence alt art unset for purity of fire.

And for builds like signalshot or other ci builds that are going to be taking a BIG ES hit, they might view this as a breath of fresh air even though they'd lose damage. Hmmmm

I think it would be a bad idea. In case you roll some mediocre stats like 30 resist some mana regen and an attribute which could be fairly common, it's really far from your goal so you would need to scour, but on a normal base you could still sell that for dozens of exalts when it goes legacy.
