" I would normally agree with this, but the game seems to be balanced around the most powerful builds. This essentially forces players to see the gear they need for heavy builds, just to access end game content. I played this game like Diablo 1, and got spanked by the first guardians before I could get to Aztiri. This was with a build I based around something I saw on Youtube. The only difference is that I didn't trade for gear. |

" I fully understand the currency system in POE. For an auction house, the SELLER finalizes the transaction, not the auction house itself. At the end of an auction a player reviews bids: Starting bid 1 exalt: offer 1 1 exalt 5 chaos offer 2 110 fuse Offer 3 45 chaos. Of course those can all be viewed as '5 chaos' over the initial price. It will be up to the seller to pick which offer to take. For sale based transactions, a player can put up a few different options, or even have a setting in the back end to set his conversion rates. As for players trying to break the system: Well there are probably people out there who would try to do so. It would be up to GGG to analyze the market. i.e. how much % of the overall buying power do those players hold? They can have an economist analyse the overall situation, and help them implement policies to combat 'leakage'. Leakage is the technical term for when currency (in this case gear) dissapears from the economy without being spent. Classic examples of this are couch change, pennies being vaccumed up, or your dog eating your wallet. Also money being kept under the mattress for several years at a time would also be leakage.
