Welcome fellow Exile!

I've been playing for 4 years now, and there's still no shortage of things to try out and explore. If you like challenging and you like having options, than you should find Path of Exile to be a lot of fun.

There's a lot of guides and helpful info, but I would suggest diving right in and playing for awhile first. When you get to a point where you want to step back and figure out - how to up your game, then take a break, peruse the forum and some of the guides, and then dive back in.

Good luck and hope your PoE time is as enjoyable as can be!

Yes, he is a lucky SOB to never know the extreme pain of desync (assuming he has a low latency connection to a game server). Then again, never ever having had to deal with desync and the many ragequit deaths it has caused (albeit temporary) the new players are without that playing perspective and as such will never see the beauty of Leapslam, Whirlwind, Flicker Strike, etc. (any of the super desync skills) in today's PoE verses pre-Lockstep Determination PoE.
