You don't have to understand it.

Then explain why a game that contains penis can't have characters named after that content.
(b) Personal abuse, foul language, inappropriate subject matter, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature ... are not permitted.

- PoE TOS.
Why is it so difficult for you to understand bhavv:

The majority of the community and GGG would like it's players to behave like mature adults.

That would imply you can appreciate the art and the work they've put into the game, and yet still act like a decent human being and not put profanities etc in your toon names and be civil on the forums and in chat.

It's really not difficult to do... give it a shot :)
Why don't you explain why you feel the need to name yourself after 'that content'. As far as I can see, it's not 'edgy', it's certainly not creative, and the fact alone that the user thinks it is either of the two simply makes the whole debacle sad and entirely unfunny. Most likely it is simply an attempt to vex those inclined to be vexed by such things (read, 'trolololol').

I count myself lucky to not be sensitive to those things (and not of certain nationality/ies where the human body is considered to be of the Devil), but it still remains unfunny.
95% of all statistics I use are backed up by SCIENCE.

You should work on your reading comprehension.
Hi guys,

I know exactly where you are coming from. All of you.

It is baffling that we can have swear words in chat but apparently not in our names. It is equally baffling that we have penises on the statue and boobs on the demons but both words are apparently not allowed in the naming.

This is currently under review.

Support has been cracking down on names, and you can see my reaction in my signature.

We can't really refer to the Terms of usage because they explicitly state 'no foul language' which is a direct contradiction for how you're allowed to act in chat. Also, the ToU is mostly for the website and was drafted a while ago. We are due an updated one but for now, it remains the 'spirit of the law' if not necessarily the letter of the law.

We moderators are currently drafting a clear, simple set of guidelines, a player-orientated policy, that will be sanctioned by GGG regarding names. Support will be aware of these guidelines and enforce them. These guidelines will, in the tradition of GGG's philosophy so far, be based on common sense and although we will state obvious examples of what is not allowed, we reserve the right to act on our judgment should we encounter murky cases.

For example, 'NuckingFigger' might sidestep any obvious rules, but it doesn't take a genius to see what's going on there.

Please know that we've made this a priority. The confusion between players, moderators and support regarding 'inappropriate names' must be cleared up.

We ask that you remain patient, just a little bit longer.

And as always, PM a moderator if you have any issues. That's what we're here for.
