Experimental Brazilian Gateway

So, I got really hyped and gave a try.. These are my results:

130ms to Washington
180ms to São Paulo

the distance between me and washington are around 20 times bigger than me and São Paulo, what's the problem?

Hey guys , there are most likely some routing issues yet since the servers are pretty new.

Do MTR / tracerts to br.login.pathofexile.com . You may need to call your ISP in order to resolve it.

Btw, it's not GGG fault, and most likely not Softlayer fault either, unless it's an insane peering issue.

The connections between countries in LA tend to be fishy, sometimes working pretty good, and sometimes working horribly.

More ms than texas, mi ISP doesn't like BR lol

If you are going to provide a translated version for this gateway, (i imagine portuguese), can you make a spanish translation aswell?, many of south america countrys have spanish as main language and probably this gateway will be good for them too.

I am from Argentina, Speedy, 65 ms.

Texas -> 400ms
São Paulo - > 100 ms .. 80ms .. 200ms ...

Great Times Are Coming ? I hope so, for what discourages most in the game is the latency

I have been doing a map in Tempest for the past 15 minutes (from Belo Horizonte, MG Brazil): 60-80 ms. Really good! It's a bit spiky, and I don't know if it has something to do with the host's maintenance. If it does, it looks like once that's over, the game will run as smoothly as butter. Even with the spikes, it's not as bad as when it spikes from the 200 ms mark. When the latter happens, it's just better to do a fast logout immediately, since it freezes more often than not. Now, the worst thing that happens is just a slight pause.

60ms ♥ (Connecting from Brazil)
So far, it sometimes spikes to 70ms, but it is WAY better than the constant 200ms from other servers. This is a great improvement.

So, about the server quality, i'm getting around 20-30 ms from Belo Horizonte, which is indeed pretty close to the server , so it's as good as i could hope. I'm sure that the instability that some people are experiencing will be solved with time.

One thing that i want to talk about, though, is the whole client forcing thing. Every single time that i tried to raise questions about this either here on the official forums or in the subrredit i was completely ignored by the devs. Is GGG really going to force users to use a translated version? will we be able to play in a normal english client? and on another even more worrysome question, some dev said on reddit that players on the brazillian gateway would be forced into local chats and noticeboards, meaning regional lockup. Is this really going to happen? because that would mean 100% of the time i would either ignore a server that is 100 fucking kilometers from my house and play on the texas one or i would quit the game. I'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks like that and i'm sure this has been raised before from other people. Can we please get some answers? As much as i'm happy with the new server and the new ping (and finally playing lockstep) what i've talked here completely change my feelings for this game altogether.Not only i've been excited for the server for the past few years, i was also very very anxious about this question, so this news is somewhat bittersweet, the lack of communications means that i can't be happy with this yet.

I happen to know that there are a few ggg devs who play/played Heroes of Newearth. i encourage those to look up the decisions s2 games made when doing a brazillian server and finding out how it went. That was probably the third or fourth game i played the most in my life, and i immediately quit when the transition was made. It was also the greatest incentive ever to finally make the transition to dota 2
