Why streamers can do what they do?

If you have to blame someone... don't blame the streamers. Blame the kids who blindly give items to them just so they can be on their streams for a few seconds, having their moment of "fame".

The reality is, no one gives a fuck if you appear on someone's stream, no one will remember it, no one will remember you. The streamer doesn't care about you either and will not remember you. The gamergurl will no remember you if you give her exalts either.

Anyway it's like blaming Justin Bieber instead of blaming his fans. The kid is being paid millions to be a fucking clown. We'd all do it.

Nobody is denying the fact that streamers get stuff from fan boys, no one is saying its 'fair' also.

But we also do not care about it, the race for 1st malachai merc kill was won by a streamer and I had some friends who were also close (I gave them stuff to help them maybe compete, guess I,m a fanboy xD)

If you really wish to blame someone for the fact that you only play solo and think everyone else should also do the same because it then makes things 'unfair' to you....blame yourself for building your own handicap.

Like many others said, fanboys go in said streamer's channel, give stuff to see him succeed because they relate and it makes them feel all tingly inside for a second.

That's life, yes its 'unfair' you could say....but that's the way it is and I'm sure not gonna say we should block all trades because there's people who don't stream and get free stuff.

He started streaming because he was the number 1 hardcore player in the game, top of the original hc ladder in open beta. Why did HvR start streaming? Because he was number 1 softcore player in the game, top of the ladder pushing for world first poe lvl100. They were the best players in the entire game, that is why they started streaming in the first place, they are still the best players in the game, they dont get everything handed to them on a platter.

Why is everyone readily aware of these untrue things you are saying? There is a ladder, therefore there is inherently a competition and balance around the notion of a competition.

If you compete or not, you are indirectly effected by it's existence.

I watch a lot of PoE streams and none of them are given free stuff by viewers. Who are these streamers? The ones I watch, all say they do not want stuff handed to them because it's not fun.

If I had an army of viewers funneling wealth and effort into my account, my ability to clear content crazy fast could be mistaken as player skill too. It doesn't help that, once you're the first group who has access to certain content, it gives you an insane economic advantage over everyone else.

There's a misconception with this train of thought.

To become a popular streamer:

I have to

A: Be already good at the game where I cause people to want to watch me

B: Play tons of hours

To then achieve

C: Get free stuff from fans and be "successful" at the game.

Streamers do not skip A and B and randomly get to C just because they did the act of "streaming".
