Upcoming changes to Leech

Why cap Mana Leech at all?

Isn't the point of Mana Leech to provide you with enough mana to sustain attacks? If it isn't then investing in Mana to increase leech rate just feels bad.

Claws just keep getting mooooore and mooooore appealing. Im sure a ton of those leech nodes will be in that area :D. Ill have to see how it all ends up balancing out but im sure the changes will be welcome like all the rest have been so far. Im REALLY impressed with how GGG is handling the beta, The Awakening, announcements and all the changes. Its all great, keep it up guys.
RIP leech. We will miss you. You'll have your little grave beside mana builds (eldritch battery, arctic armour), block, reduced mana and auras.

Go, GGG! Loving the changes to build diversity! Now you only need to mix armour and evasion into a single defense mechanic and get rid of energy shield!

Hey Dan, one little question, is there any chances of the atziri gloves so far? With new leech mechanism maybee, something is planed (nerf it again)?

What will nerfing the gloves accomplish? Make broken builds a little less broken? To get those gloves, end game content is already a joke. Why bother?

I just don't understand this mentality, that the top builds are to be nerfed. As if this is street fighter and you want Capcom to nerf a character or attack. This is a PvE rpg.. it doesn't need aggressive and reactionary balance changes
The current problem players have with leech is not the amount leeched, rather the rate.
With a fast hitting weapon, on some endgame builds it does not matter how much %leech or damage you have. It simply caps out at the leech rate. This means either 2 things currently, first get Atziri's Acuity or in the Beta use a Moon Claw. If leech rate gets further nerfed it simply does not matter if leech from multiple monsters stacks now. You will still effectively leech less.
Looking forward to those leech clusters, tho.
So that means life leech gem will be nerfed in the amount of life leeched but vaal pact will have 100% effectiveness?

And how about making new support gem Mana Gain on Hit?
