Player Entitlement? Does this Ever happen to you?

I've had a player come offering less than I was asking. Combination of low level currency, low tier rolled rares, the works. I just decline and explain what alternatives I would accept and let them know if they could trade up to that, I would trade them.

I don't think they were being entitled. I look at it this way - it's probably a newer player, or one without game knowledge. They probably hit a difficulty spike, or progression wall, etc. And the most obvious way to overcome that for one lacking game knowledge is to upgrade gear. So a person is frustrated when they can't upgrade their gear. I understand that, I've been there. I just take the approach that they have to learn to scale that obstacle and won't let it upset me if they feel they "need" the item I'm selling, but can't afford it. It's part of the learning experience. I choose not to be an ass about it, even if they are being one.

[Removed by Support] but to John, if you do spend some time trading this game is exceptionally like Xbox Live - I had a guy whisper me for 2c boots yesterday and I replied "Please check if the item is verified before whispering, sold" and got spammed for about a minute with "kill yourself retard".

on-topic: your example proves dicks exist on both sides of the transaction screen,
now ask me again why I hate trading.
well, part of why I hate trading.

My last sale went like this:

Him: "WTB spell echo 4c"
Me: "my ho"
Him: "i don't have enough chaos tho"
Me: "what do you got?"
Him: >proceeds to give me 1 gcp, 2 alchs and 2 chaos<
Him: "stay safe"
Me: "you too :)"

He chose to overpay a bit because he couldn't give me pure chaos. A really nice guy.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Well, I would probably feel annoyed too by the guy, but reporting him is like going too far; he's not breaking any rule. I would offered him any other unique or cool item to compensate his need.

I sincerely doubt that would do anything positive. If GGG would ever decide to get their hands into regulating trade... my god.

One observation though - how passionate we all seem to be about "trading" - every single individual has their own distinct opinion on how it should be done.

Is this really healthy though? I mean - if everyone has their own passionate opinion about a line item in a game... maybe the developer should put in more firm rules surrounding currency and trading?

I think this is like talking about principles: there are actually no rules as long as you respect the others. PoE economy is vast and complex enough to allow anyone to do their business however they want.
Honestly guys - we're putting too much emotional response into this... when I'm playing I'm usually mapping with friends and I have no time to get into lengthy conversations to people. People whisper me, I tell them price, done.

It's really the sort of can I trade for ... *link everything in inventory and stash and all my rare items* that bugs me - I can somewhat sympathise with the OP as that is one of my pet niggles - people linking their entire stash for me when I just want simple chaos or exalts.

Reporting the guy was stupid. But also what was stupid was the guy retorting - take out emotion, just do business straight-forwardly and you have no problems.

I wouldn't imagine people doing business IRL as the OP do in this video game.

You're right I wouldn't - so let's not do business like this.
