Can't play this game.

I moved to a different city and I'm having a tough time trying to play Path of Exile, my internet connection here is about 15Mb download and 1Mb upload, I get like 160-170 ping, but that's normal because I live in Brasil.

Now the problem: About 70% of the time when I try to login or change to a different zone or instance the game takes too much time(maybe authenticating something?) and then disconnects me. 30% of the time it works just fine, but this is just too painful for me and costs a LOT of time.

It's probably some authentication issue I think, I say that because when I'm on skype and try to share screen with someone it won't let me: "Verifying signature..."

Also, it's not my computer or firewall because it's the same computer I used to play on the other city, nothing has changed except my ISP/location.

PS: I can play other online games like CS:GO just fine.

Any ideas? I really love this game but can't play it when I spent hours in loading screens and disconnects. =/
Hi there!

This issue may be caused by noticeable packet loss when attempting to transfer between zones, or your current connection being shared / soaked by high bandwidth usage. Can you please run a WinMTR (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/361292) to your preferred gateway? Please make sure this runs for 400 packets sent while you are connecting to Path of Exile, and then post the results here. This will allow us to investigate further on your behalf. Thanks!

Ok, I'm not home right now but that is probably the cause, so what could I do if it turns out that it is the problem?

I got home and when I started winMTR it said: "Unnable to get raw socket!".
So I tried to run it as admin, and it worked I guess, but after I click start nothing happens, the Start button becomes a Stop button but nothing shows up in the white field down there. No error message also.

I let it running for 5 minutes, no change.
search google for the latest version, the version in the sticky notes is outdated and does not work

So, the weird thing is - heaps of dropped packets through the start of your trace (in bold), but it doesn't carry through consistently, nor does it show dropped packets at the end of the trace.

I'm not smart (I was dropped on my head as a child), but I think that means you're getting some serious traffic management from your ISP and the inbetween hops.

Wait till Drakier, Lagwin, or someone from support pops in with the brains though.

Quick question, which host were you using for this trace, and was this while you were playing?

Could possibly be worthwhile doing a longer one (maybe 10 minutes or so instead of 5ish)

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!
Yeah, this was while playing.

Should I do another without playing? Also, is there any band-aid fix for now?
Unfortunately, the band aid has to be applied at your ISP end because they have control of where that data is going as it travels to GGG.

I would say do another one, this time connect to Singapore or the AU gateway instead (remember to change the WinMTR host), and see if the packet loss keeps happening.

Then (unfortunately) if it does, its time to have a right bitch and moan at your service provider.

"
If you use the Singapore gateway, please enter 'SG.login.pathofexile.com' or '216.12.203.91'
If you use the Australian gateway, please enter 'AU.login.pathofexile.com' or '119.82.146.48'
