It's very hard to make a sound comparison when we have no idea what kinda gear / aurabots / other boosts for this value. Clearly if you make anything with 2000ex worth of gears it'll be better than 5l build.

It's just standing in my hideout with RF running, nothing else. The gear is expensive though so not comparable as such, just found the comment to be very absolute hence a bit funny. =)

I still can't help but dislike your approach, such as just standing there at dying to a Vaal slam rather than warping out and back in <1sec, it wouldn't degen you much and saves a limited TP. You would have to have done it on lower level chars when levelling, and in HC. It's why the telegraphed attack and fast movement skills exist.
Is there no other easy way to trade some dps for surviving this series of fights?

I accept that with your current dps, you're able to reliably brute-force the instance, as you likely won't get slammed/killed frequently enough to fail and aren't relying on status ailment chance or crits to do dps. It just isn't as neat as something that directly counters the different damage situations (e.g. CI, long Vaal IC, etc).

Btw, not sure if you know you can right-click the + of ready-to-level gems to remove them from the constant UI without levelling them.

I tried to warp away from vaal slam, it just failed. And someone with more mechanical skill can probably beat Trio with self-cast Immortal call deathlessly.

Can a dagger roll the mods your wand has, and thus let you use Whirling Blades?

This comment didn't make sense to me, then I realized you must be talking about Empower's mana multiplier.

The answer is that The Vertex does not affect aura mana reservations. It's only for "costs". So it would help an aura cast by a spell totem, but not a self-applied aura (except insofar as +1 level helps).

Can't roll cast speed on daggers. Incinerate can't crit either so dagger implicit will be wasted.
