[1.3] Spider Charmer or Crit Pierce Self Cast Sparker (Updated March 2015)

spark is just one of those skills that was majorly over nerfed.

I made a build with it about a month ago, and just gave up on it, cause while I was doing ok DPS and clearing maps ok, I just knew, I could do far better with almost any other skill, and once the nostalgia wore off, I scrapped it.

spark, elemental hit, shock nova, ethereal knives, fireball, all perfect examples of gems that need to re done - cause either they were over nerfed, or simply outdone by far better gems.

Have you tried dual apeps or pledge?

A: I did not try with dual apeps or pledge. I personally think that a 6l pledge with Voll's Protector is the best setup but I tried to make it more accesible (this is the only build I did in Torment) so I chose dual wield weapon.

For dual apeps, I planned out a non crit builds and tried in Standard (I lose too much crit chance + crit mult to make a crit build using dual apeps). The result is not statisfying enought for me and I better off using something like Incinerate or Ball Lightning.

Empower do little to nothing compared to Crit Multi since this build focus a lot of crit. Even without Assasin's Mark, Crit Multi offer More damage multiplier with full powercharge up (~50% crit chance). If you have a BiS caster staff with +3 gem lvl then Empower might have an edge vs Crit Mult.

Would you say that going for Righteous Fire is worth it, or can we do fine without it? I'm not a huge fan of micromanaging skills...

Planning on something like:

Excuse me but, you say "Pierce" and i don't see any pierce gem linked to your Spark gem in your chestpiece.
Also you talk about taking the pierce points in the tree, and when i open the tree i don't see any points in the pierce nodes.

So was wondering if it's a bug orrrr i dunno ^^

Oh and what do you think about Voltaxic Rift + Drillneck for this build ? ^^
