Very wise policy. This is how I used them when I started out. Then during the league where Drillneck came out I made it my informal goal to find or chance that unique (since I didn't know if it would be staying in the item pool after league end.) I never had any luck with that (though I have a large collection of decent rare quivers as a result). After that I started chancing Occultist's Robes (for Shav's) and Gavels (for Mjolner). Then I realized if I ever got the hammer of Thor I would never be able to use it due to desynch or give it to my brother (due to desynch when we party.) Now I just do Occultist's Robes.

Honestly I wish I never used any at all. I could really use the Orbs of Regret those sucker orbs can be crafted into! But by the insane logic that keeps Nevada in the black I feel like I can't stop now after investing so many Chances into the project.

When I first started playing I didn't really know what chance orbs did. I didn't even know that uniques could be made from whites. I don't even think I knew that uniques had a white counterpart. So one day I had a 2H mace drop and just for the heck of it decided to see what a chance orb would do. I got this



I heard the audio sound and was like wtf was that? Then I saw the unique in my stash. I was only level 20-21 at the time and couldn't wait to get to 22 to use it. That mace was so OP for a noob like me. It's a total blast for leveling an ST build.


I don't think it was the first chance I ever used. I think it was the second time I tried one.

I haven't gotten anything good since then. Mostly I use them on ilevel 60+ pendants, rings or vendor bought armor.

I use chance orbs exclusively on belts for phys/spell recipe. The odds of getting anything from trying to roll a specific unique with them are so astronomically low you're better off trying to win the IRL lottery.

Trying to chance mjolner has become my pet project. I think I'll have the same luck I have had trying to find a Zod, Tyrael's and Templar's might.
