chance orbs....

What are you guys doing with chance orbs!? I'v been trying to chance something for like 3 seasons and no luck. Last 2 seasons I was buying a lot of chance orbs and trying to chance something w/o any profit or luck. This season it's only my own orbs, what is actually a lot, dunno, they drop for me a lot. Still no luck, nor happy moments for me. :D

last season was trying to chance Bino's aswell, so slaughter dagger was way to go.

I gave up, early on, thinking I'd ever chance anything expensive, so instead I use chance as a "for fun" orb on jewelry.

I figure, there's always the chance I'd get an Andy or Dream Frag or something, but mostly you can never have too much rare jewelry... when they do roll as a rare, it's sometimes very useful (and I suspect, even more-so now that we can master-craft a missing mod), sometimes something that could be sold for spare change, and sometimes it's an extra piece that can contribute to rare recipe (since jewelry is the "hard part")

Basically they're a very economic & fun orb if you use them for their "failed rolls" instead of trying only to roll a unique with them.

I spent hundreds of chance orb and still didnt chanced my desired unique. Back in closed beta I chanced a coral ring and I managed to get the Kaoms Sign. But that was when I had no idea how things work and I felt pretty happy about it anyway :-)
Currently I am chancing : Siege Axes ( Soultaker ), Occultist Vestments ( Shavs ), Royal Bows ( Windripper ) and Gavels ( Mjollner ).

I play HC/Solo/Self-found, and chances are my favorite orb. I always chance for an item that my current character can use.

My claim-to-fame is getting an Alpha's Howl on my very first chancing of a sinner's tricorn.

Same as Shagsbeard, - the Alpha's Howl.
When I find an item whose base is an upgrade to the one I'm using and possibly has the same or more links (well, a 5L I'd actually alch unless I went for the unique) I use a chance on it. Got some nice rares this way.
Also: Some master mods cost chances.

Just saying... Windripper is Imperial bow...

We don't have any numbers on these orbs, much at all really. But I would bet that chancing for higher end uniques is unprofitable. If it weren't, we'd be swimming in high end uniques by now.

I just turn them into Regrets and sell them.

That way, I get the Regret without the regrets, and the profit without the gambling.

My bad, I meant Imperial bow. The base is shared with Lioneye's Glare.
