A SP game at origins that's going to ask for monthly sub... ARE YOU KIDDIN' ME! The 1st reason why diablo 3 is of no competition to PoE is because of the price difference. From personal experience with Guild Wars(B2P), games that ask no monthly sub can sustain a, commonly, more loyal playerbase. After 3 months of EVE i quit and never looked back.

Just looking for clarification on this. Are you saying that D3 is going to ask for monthly fees, or we're you just giving two examples in the same sentence?

as of the moment D3 is going to use BattleNet 2.0, witch apparently will ask for subscription... add micro-transactions to the mix and you got a pretty good picture of where this is going..

Sure you can (hopefully) not use BN2.0 but you will miss out on all its features and playerbase is likely to get split to pieces...

The point of my post was to say that

PoE is a Free game. You pay money for D3. no contest between the two.

Maybe from diablo's standpoint...

as for another thought.

D3 is going for far more "colorful" graphics and considerable part of diablo 1/2 players (myself included) were rather disappointed when the gameplay videos were put up. Blizzard is trying to spread diablo out to the masses like they did with WoW... I fear that will likely put off at least a part of the people who have stayed in line for D3 since its announce, waiting for D2 followup.

D3 is going to be free to play as well (actually you got to buy the game). Blizzard is going to make money with your/our playing time. It will be possible to sell virtual items for real money, and blizzard will get some money from this (like 5% of something). So D3 will be something new, but also a game for people who have money(cause more money means better stuff).


I hope that this game PoE isn't going to let money decide how good your champ is. It would be much better if the paying system is something like LoL. So the game is free and individualisation and stuff costs money. I would also spend 1euro per month to ensure that enough servers are up and running.

Got one week free now.. need a beta key.. suffering...
