superwash = machine wash and dry but I wouldn't dry in machine.
They don't have to be wool but wool does make a better sock. It breathes better, can absorb more wetness and still be warm. Wool socks don't itch usually. You can also get cashmere, alpaca, bamboo, cotton, and all sorts of blends including chitin. You can get them with aloe imbedded in the yarn and sometimes you can find the scented ones. |
