Yesterday, we ran about 15 Maps, and found 2. At this rate, we're out soon :p

I understand RNG is RNG, but seeing the number of complaints on map drop rates, I figured I'd chime in. The map system is awesome, I love it. But there's a bit of a problem when I run my first 70 map, after pumping chisels and orbs into it to get a rare 94% item quantity on it, and I get one map out of it, a level 67 map. Off of a rare guy. A bit depressing, imo, back to the lower level maps.
The drop rate as a whole isn't that bad; once I had a few, I've had a never-ending supply of them. As long as you at least pump them up with orbs a bit, they just keep coming. And I understand the higher level ones are supposed to be more rare. But I would rather run a 70 map, and get no maps out of it at all, than get another one that's 3 levels or more lower. I have no problem getting 66-68 maps, I can get those elsewhere, lol. IGN = Kryztal

The drop rate is fine your just getting unlucky.
If you really don't want to farm for maps why not just buy some from other players. http://poe.xyz.is/search?league=Default&type=Map I'm sure in your 2 days of farming docks you have enough for an alchemy orb to buy a 66 map. Last edited by Silenoz#6684 on Feb 22, 2013, 7:19:22 PM

enjoy farming at 85+ with this drop rates..
Stop talking about only 66 maps.. opened 15 maps mixed 70 71 72, ended up 66 67 68s Squirrel is love, Squirrel is life.

" You dont know what youre talking about. 66 and 67 maps are plenty but that is not end game content. 72+ maps are the big problem and the real issue. Not getting acces to the real end game content, which is 77 atm. Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Feb 23, 2013, 2:20:34 AM

Actually, maps in general are the end game content.
I would bet damn near my.entire stash that I could roll a low lvl map that could kill every single person complaining. Last edited by SL4Y3R#7487 on Feb 23, 2013, 2:36:31 AM

" I started reading these latter posts and laughed. You were there when I said that in a 1 or 2 people would be selling maps for an alch each right? Then would start complaining about not being able to get into higher maps right? People don't want options, they want easy access to the highest thing available. As long as maps are the end game people will be bitch. (not talking directly to you slurms, just to everyone in general) Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th Null's Inclination Build 2.1.0 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1559063 Summon Skeleton 1.3 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1219856 |

It's a little frustrating to compete on the front page when there are just such massive experience swings due to the rng.
That being said, if you are just regularly leveling, I don't see a problem. |

If you haven't got maps, but want to run maps, just look for public groups going by the "maps go to creator, loot goes to name" system, which is a great system. Being a polite and productive member of these groups is a great way to connect with the good part of the HC league endgame community. I'm level 76 and I've never used a single one of my own maps, have a stockpile of about 10 of them now just from running docks when there aren't any good public groups open.
