Health and Mana globe decorations seem (accidentally?) misogynistic

Great point, Avireyn. And actually, as I was sitting here thinking on the subject of the thread, I began to wonder how much of the design aesthetic is developed from a difference in culture.

For example, as an American, my opinion of what is or isn't sexually explicit is very different from the opinions of people from other countries and cultures. This is exactly my reason for using "misogyny" is quotations because I agree that the word evokes a certain amount of intent, which is likely not at all the issue here on the part of the designers. I do not, for a second, think that any of the artist said to themselves "Ha! Let's teach those women a lesson and punish them good!" That's just silly.

Do I love the game? Heck yes! And will I continue playing it? You bet! Am I offended by any of the content? No, not in the least. Do I like the "Bubble Babes," (which I am now calling them to input a little lightheartedness to the weight of this discussion) no, not really, they could be better.

But also, in my selfishness, I wish one more of the classes had been female instead of male.

.....and I want the witch to fly more. SELFISHNESS!!!

Isn't it weird how so much of the rest of the game is not sexist or objectifying, and they even have a statue with a tiny penis, but the UI just had to go there? The one thing you can't ever stop having on screen.
People really will complain and cry about anything and everything they can. Another bleeding heart for a topic that doesn't matter in the slightest. -\\- I play the worlds smallest violin for you.

You know, I think you're really doing the discussion a disservice by strawmanning like that. But sure, if you don't want to discuss but only shame and insult further, go right ahead. I just think you're doing your 'cause' a disservice with this behaviour. I asked you to specify, and you didn't. Or couldn't.

Anyway:

@LadyCraven: I do get where you're coming from. In cases of "sexism" claims I usually do the mirror method and see how I would react. Would I like two strapping guys holding those globes up? Not particularly. Would I mind? Not at all.
They would be just as fitting to the theme, imo. Think of Atlas stemming the world in Greek mythology. But as stated, the female form seems to be more accepted as pleasing to the eye than the male form in most cultures nowadays (this seems to have to do with neoteny; notice they aren't old crones).
Or maybe one where one globe is held up by a man, one by a woman? Two (evil) cherubs of indeterminate sex? Why not?

Coincidentally, I had really hoped that the Shadow (when it wasn't revealed yet) would be the third female class.

I would not at all object to additional UI sets in the tone of the game. I just don't see how some people try to blow this up into "This is absolutely serious and needs to be addressed now. And if you don't agree, you need to take long, hard look in the mirror, and grow up". Talk about overreaction.

Your non-asshole statements are eclipsed by your asshole ones. Maybe if you stopped sprinkling contempt for women into your book posts I could take you seriously.

LadyCraven and Ganrao, thank you both very much for your input and wording your arguments much better than I am able to.

I put accidental in brackets because I didn't want to blame the artist with intent, rather implying that they were taking on the common views held by society without even noticing like a lot of people do.

I think it would be great if the women were replaced by evil cheribs, I love the artwork but disagree with the message the bubble babes are putting forward, not for the nudity, but for the objectification and degradation. If the artwork was more like Atlas and less like something you would find in porn I would be much happier.
Like I stated on reddit, I find this to be retarded and you bleeding heart so called activists like you should go feck yourselves.

No one cares what 14 year olds think. Just go back to living in your mom's basement and thinking about how unfair life is being a white male.

Well,I believe they are slaves just as the corsair mentions how he saved one,but I would like to see a option to change to something more related to the gameplay, just like in Diablo the red globe was a demon and the blue one a angel,I could see changing the red one to a livid warrior(tribal perhaps?) and the blue one to one of the abomination of Island(considering magic in this universe has been perversed).
