Potential economic disaster Monday - Elreon concerns.
Apologies for the click bait title, and I'd like to say this obviously isn't my original thought for a solution, I'd just really like to echo it.
Currently exalts are 38-40c on Beyond and divines are expected to reach 25c~ before Monday. Both have constantly been on the rise since the very beginning of the league, and with upcoming changes divines will crash while exalts will continue to sky rocket. This is absolutely insane. By making the elreon master craft cost 2 exalts GGG is going to drive up the price even further creating a bigger gap betweeen the "normal" player from the wealthy elite. Most players won't even be able to gather the 50 chaos that exalts will inevitably go to and those with tons of exalts already will be mind-numbingly rich. The reason? There is currently no sink for chaos like there should be alongside its common drop rate. People aren't using them aside from a trading token or possibly rerolling carographer boxes/maps. The chance of getting a good item from chaosing it is just too low--people are using alterations + crafting or plain old drops for gear. The solution? Please make eleron master craft 55-65 chaos, not 2 ex. It would add some much needed stabilization to the current economy via an actual large and reasonable sink for chaos. We have until Monday to fix this, please GGG. We can prevent what will be the worst economy in the history of PoE. Post your ideas or support below. Considering I found 3 exalted orbs in 1200 hours of playing since the game was added to Steam, I certainly agree that any NPC services costing exalted orbs is problematic. They should either take chaos orbs as you suggested, or there should be a recipe to get exalted orbs.
People claim that divine orbs are at least as rare as exalted orbs, but this isn't my experience. I get increasingly more frustrated with more "trade required!" stuff being added to the game, without ANY sort of trade system improvements. Part of me wishes that xyz shut down just so that GGG had more incentive to actually address trading. | |
100% agree. throws dagger in heart of sf player since exalts are totally rng. no way to farm them.

I strongly disagree with the changes made to Elreon crafting during the course of a temporary league. Because of the initially low cost of Elreon crafting, early adopters of the new age style of meta crafting significantly benefited; the rich surely were expecting and impending change (as we all were) and likely crafted a ton of strong weapons in advance of the change, and now they will be able to profit; late adopters and slower players are left in the dust and will now be forced to overpay. This is extremely unfair and a poor decision. Moreover, the game needs a chaos sink more than anything right now, and if they were going to change the currency I would have preferred that it be to chaos orbs.

" I feel like this is being rather optimistic. Exalts were already steadily climbing from 40 to 45 just today in Rampage. With this news I wouldnt be surprised if they hit 80 or more. |

Let's just face it, the game is chiefly intended for people who can play absurd amounts of time every day, who don't mind trading constantly, and who are fine with playing the game in completely artificial ways (like sitting in /820 for a week straight), or who take the risk (tiny as it seems to be) of RMTing. If you play this game any other way (you know, like one PLAYS games instead of working them like a potato field), you face disadvantages, many of them severe and fun-killing.
There are only two choices: a) You completely give up on any ambitions and find your own niche that is completely independent of what anyone else does. b) You quit and spend your time and money on a company that doesn't walk over you with increasing and alarming frequency. Giving feedback makes no difference. It doesn't matter how constructive it is. If further proof was needed, this situation (and the Haku beacons) provides it. We whine, but we keep handing over the cash, because in a few days this just blows over. They know that, too. Ultimately, it is our own fault, because we want those cute little forum icons or the fancy cosmetic stuff in the game so we can feel "more special" or "better" for whatever other reason. Apparently, those things are more important to us than sending GGG a message that can't be as easily ignored because money is the ONLY thing that truly matters. " Two things: 1. Wasn't the main guy in GGG someone who did this in Diablo 2? 2. GGG is making a game they want to play. Given those two things it's not surprising the game is about trading in a shitty trade system and a focus on group play, which are ironically two thing exactly opposite of what makes this type of game fun. |

what about an artificial upper limit?
As 1 fuse will never be traded for more than 4 jewellers because that's the vendor price, making vendors sell exalted orbs for 40 chaos (+-) could be a solution? Visit my shop! 〆〆〆 ( ( ( THE BALROG'S BAZAAR ) ) ) 〆〆〆 Last edited by ObscureBalrog#5153 on Sep 26, 2014, 1:18:02 AM
